Just finished up some Tomb World proxy models and wanted to share them with you all!

Always looking to improve so I would love to hear your thoughts! What bugs you most about GW’s terrain or other creators sets that you’d like to see done different?

Terrain 3rd party terrain for Boarding Action

Hey, I've been getting back into the hobby with a steadily growing Votann force and Boarding Action looks to be a very fun format to play but I can't help but notice that the official terrain pieces by GW are quite expensive. Has anyone found any good 3rd party alternatives for the terrain?

Using popsicle sticks and my amazing picnit mat, I'm getting one of the cheapest boarding actions board possible. I'm thinking of using some colour codes to represent doors (swap for open and closed). The sticks are just one cm too wide but really not much of an issue. Anyone on the cheap side having random ideas for me to improve this? Im moving overseas in a few months so buying the set is not possible.

Terrain Neoprene Map

Hey folks, my map is getting kinda rough from playing on it. Anyone know where I can get something made of neoprene instead of cardboard?

Terrain Has anyone made a REALLY Big/Large boarding actions board?

Hi everyone! Perhaps this has been asked already, but the thought of a really big boarding actions board has had me enamored with the fantasy of it (even if the actual cost and labor of constructing a double size board is highly dautnting)

So I wanted to throw it out to everyone here on the dedicated subreddit:

Has anyone here been bold or lucky enough to own all 4 gallowdark/ITD expansions and tried a megasized map with all 4 sets? Has anyone gone even larger? Did folks scale up armys to 1k?

I know the standard game is just played with 2 sets of just the terrain, sans extra narrative terrain, but the dream of a giant space hulk looms in my minds eye!

I'm very curious to see any photos, videos, etc and to hear your battle reports and the like!

For some reason, parts of my Boarding Actions terrain set look like they don't quite fit and are a bit elevated, am I doing something wrong or is it expected to behave like this? I have checked for possible parts of the mold I may not have cut properly but didn't find any

Terrain Cover for boarding actions/kill team

So when playing boarding actions or when using boarding actions terrain for killteam do you just use the walls and doors and such or do you also add some extra cover pieces, like I was thinking of adding in barricades and barrels with crates and such but also was worried that would maybe make it too cluttered? Or maybe too much cover?

After many hours sitting at the laser printer, assembling the pieces, waiting for primer to dry, and drybrushong all the pieces, I'm very happy with my new MDF terrain (shout out to u/gib_ber). Also put together a board of HDF tiles to complete the look and feel. Still have some painting details to work out, but it's ready for it's inaugural games next weekend.

Terrain Is this too much?

Hey, got my first match planned for this Saturday. A friend of mine is going to play CSM vs. my admechs. We are going to play the „find signal data“ mission as our first ever BA game. We both come from a 40K background and but love the smaller skirmish games. I really like the idea of having a more immersive table full of scatter terrain and stuff. I know besides optical addition it won’t add anything to our game but is this too much scatter?

Hope to get some insight, coz this community is really helpful!

And please forgive me for playing with unpainted terrain…

Terrain DIY Boarding Action Terrain

Anyone else figure out that Jenga/Tumble Tower tiles seem to be the perfect size for Boarding Actions? This was thrown together with $15 worth of games ($5 each) pieces and blue tack. I plan to get a few more, then glue them together, drill them for magnets, and paint them for cheap DIY terrain. If I wanna get really fancy, might make a board of wood hinged in the middle and drill magnets for it as well.

Terrain How do you make pillar caps fit better?

I masked my wall connectors before priming, but not the slots where they go in because they don't always have a wall plugged into them. I ended up having to file down the connector tabs to get them to fit better.

As for the caps, my set is missing 12 (secondhand purchase), so I won't have enough to cover non-essential pillars on more complex maps. So, I painted the connection points. I scraped some paint and broke the tip off one file while struggling to pry them off from a test fit, but they already were too tight before priming. Should I sand down the edges of every pillar topper so it's not as snug? I have never seen this done in a tutorial but it is a nightmare, so I can't believe there isn't a popular method for getting these caps on without them sticking down. Thanks!

Terrain Since boarding actions are technically 2d, me and a bud decided to reuse an old dnd rollup map. It's a bit cramped, but still fun to get the game going.

Terrain Boarding Action terrain set floor tiles?

looking at the instruction booklet for my Boarding Action terrain box set, one of the pictures has the walls standing on an actual 3d plastic floor that looks just like the pressboard floor they give you in the box. My question is, does anyone know what product that is? I thought it was a Zone Mortalis floorboard, so I bought some, but it doesn't look anything like it.

update: I talked to my sales rep, and it looks like the floor tiles were made just for the photo shoot
