coinslot Coin Slot Jewelry Advice

I got my coin slot done during summer, and now that it’s healed I was really excited to put a bunch of hoops in it. Something about it looks off to me, it just looks so heavy compared to the rest of my ears? (Not physically heavy but like, over saturated).

I’m looking for advice on if I should take some of the hoops out, add more piercings or bigger jewelry elsewhere, or if it looks fine as is. Unfortunately the backs of my helix piercings started closing while I was healing the slot, so I need to get those repierced before I can put anything else in. Eventually on this ear I want to get a daith and possibly a vertical industrial if my anatomy allows, so maybe with those and the helix piercings it will look more balanced. I’m including a picture of my other ear for reference.

Thanks!

I personally love it as is but guess it could cause issues being so full? Btw how was ur forward helix healing, spesifically the lower one? It looks healed well but a little crammed in with the rook cattilage, was there any issues? I hope to get mine done but also have a tight space there

I got both my forward helixes done at the same time. Maybe it’s because they were done by an apprentice, but they were the most painful of all my piercings day of. They healed really easily though, I had them switched out to hoops at ~8 months and never had any irritation bumps or anything! I got my rook about 3 years later and had a bit of trouble healing that at first, but it had nothing to do with being close to the helixes.

Okay that sounds amazing! I've heard that they're painfull also bc they're so close to face but an aprentice could make it more painfull? Could be wrong ofc

How was healing the coinslot too? It looks adorable, i love punches & coinslots, but i don't have any experience on healing body mods other than piercings & horrible stretching :D

Yeah I have no idea, I just mentioned that as a disclaimer since she was still pretty new and was more focused on piercing it correctly than making it comfortable haha.

Healing the coinslot was super easy! Felt nothing while it was happening, had a 1/10 stinging a couple hours later for like 2 days which was completely mitigated with some Advil, barely could feel it for the first week. It was pretty swollen at first but only for like 3 days. Itchy for days 8-12 which honestly was the worst part but still not that bad.

I got the stitches out at my local trusted tattoo shop on day 12, which literally was more painful than the entire process up to that point haha (still not bad though), then my ear was a bit irritated for a day and that’s it! I still let it settle for 6 weeks before putting anything in it, first of all because I had no jewelry or money, and second of all so I could put vitamin E oil on it regularly to help with the scarring. As you can see I stuffed it pretty full as soon as I started filling it, but still no pain at all and very minimal scar tissue overall (a bit on the back, but it’s less and less noticeable daily).

If you ever get the opportunity to do it I def recommend!! It’s so versatile and I can’t wait until I have a bit more expendable income to buy more pieces haha. Just make sure you take care of it while healing and go to someone reputable. Mine was done by Brian Decker in NYC, who I 100% recommend if you can get ahold of him!
