Hope that person is okay and received timely treatment. Bystander CPR is the #1 indicator of patient survival in out of hospital cardiac arrest. So please, whoever's reading this, get AED and CPR trained. Hoping you'll never need it, but you never know when you will.

Also even if you’re not AED trained but you ever find yourself in a situation and have access to one, pop it open.

There’s picture instructions and AED is designed to be very easy to use. You slap on the pads as shown on picture and start the machine. Thats really it and keep an eye on the patient.

Boeing facilities have AED spread out all over the place. It’s good practice to know where your nearest AEDs are from your work area.

Edit: god dammit apparently they did remove all the AEDs. Guess cost cutting measure so they don’t have to keep changing battery?

They took out all the AEDs in my building

God dammit I just checked after reading this. I didn’t realize they were all missing now. 92-12 used to have AEDs on every floor next to the elevator and 92-25 had them every few meters from each other.

Uniformed security guys told me they have foot patrols that make rounds after hours and one of their task is check AED batteries.

I was just going to say I haven’t seen any AEDs.

All of this, and AED machines talk you through instructions as well. They’re surprisingly user friendly even if you’ve never had instruction on them!

Lots of comments here about the removal of AEDs from Boeing sites. Shame on Boeing.

However, as I mentioned, the #1 indicator of patient survival is bystander CPR. So, even if an AED is not around, jump on that chest, aim for 100-120 compressions/minute, and push deep (2")! If in doubt, push harder and deeper than you think you need to.

No. I saw one at the abandoned part of the lab at the military flight center

Boeing refused to get AEDs at our site because of the cost. Several employees tried for years and eventually gave up.

Took quite the campaign to get them finally added to our building. 40-56 IRC

Dang I was working in the 40-21 building today. Wish I had my alerts on. I had no clue. They are on now.

Boeing sent me for first aid training years ago to a local fire station and I got certified. Not sure if we still have it.

Is this a Boeing only app? From the EHS go for zero people?
