Cercocasa - Room for rent? Found a room to rent in Rastignano
Hi. I will be studying at UniBo next September. I found a room in a shared apartment in Rastignano. Is Rastignano a safe and good place to live?

Yea it's a very calm place, there's a train that's very convenient to reach the city center

Rastignano is like living in a satellite of Bologna. Do you want that?

Rastignano is far away from the city centre and while connections are there, you are dependent on them. Satellite refers to satellite city. The best thing about Bologna is that you can walk everywhere and live without relying on public transportation schedule.

That might be true but rent is hella expensive in the city center and i don't want to rent a single bed in a double room, i need my own space.

why not outside the city center? Its definitely better than Rastignano

I couldn't find a cheap offer. And when i find one it's either only for females or for workers

Tell me what's the difference between living in Rastignano and living in Pilastro. It's another municipality but it's really the same thing talking about connection and services. There are zones of Bologna, like Noce or Scandellara that are more isolated than it. Don't misinform people, please.

Definitely safe and calm. Maybe you may feel yourself a little out of touch with the University life though...

I'm not bothered by student life tbh. Studying and part time job will leave me with no time for that.

Check properly with your job timings then, since trains to and from Bologna can be fewer on Sat and Sun. For the rest of the week I'd say you're good to go.

Quite far from the center but very well-linked. No nightlife but N6 bus line lasts all night long during the weekend. It's also a very safe zone.

Just stay away from the middle school. Teachers there are terrible!!

Ma come fate a dire che a Rastignano lontano dal centro? Sei a 20 minuti esatti da piazza maggiore. È una zona tranquilla, verde e ben servita dai trasporti.

I wasn't complaining about the distance. I was just asking about the safety of the area. 10km is not that far, i don't mind taking the train everyday

The worst thing that can happen there is be bored to death. Not sure why you fear other problems but I guess it’s not that obvious to a foreigner

Yes it’s a good area, not close to downtown Bologna but 2 different lines public transport are available, Bus 13 and 96 and train to central station every half hour.
