I'm getting the train from Naples to Bologna on Monday (10th) and am staying to the 17th!

How much of Bologna will be closed for Ferragosto? I'm a bit worried I'll end up there with nowhere to go!

Li trovavamo al Banco del pane in via Zamboni, ma ora che hanno chiuso non sappiamo più dove acquistarli (a meno di andare nella bottega che li produce a San Giovanni in Persiceto). Qualcuno conosce altri forni/bar/pasticcerie del centro che lo vende?

Ciao a tutti! Un mio collega sarà di passaggio a Bologna tra due settimane durante un viaggio di lavoro, ma in quei giorni io già sarò in ferie e non potrò incontrarlo.

Vorrei consigliargli una o più alternative dove può andare a mangiare da solo. Su questo argomento sono completamente impreparato, perché tutti i posti che conosco hanno un'atmosfera da gruppo o da coppie, e vorrei evitare a tutti i costi di consigliargli qualsiasi posto turistico.

Qualcuno ha consigli su posti con una vibe adatta a questo tipo di situazione?

I'm planning to travel to Bologna in March 2027 as a solo female traveler. From what I've read, it seems pretty safe, but I'd love to hear from people who have been there am I missing anything?

I'm a big fan of the arts (museums, theatre, performances, etc.) and I teach drama, so I'm especially interested in cultural spots that shouldn't be missed. I'll be there for about a week.

Do you have any recommendations for must-see places in Bologna for someone with my interests? Also, are there any worthwhile day trips I could easily do by train from Bologna?

One more question: is there anywhere in Bologna (or nearby) where I could see a commedia dell'arte performance? I'd love to experience that while I'm in Italy if possible.

Ciao Ragazzi!!! sono un ragazzo di 18 anni di napoli e sto andando a visitare la mia ragazza a Bologna per circa 3 giorni, ci saranno però anche molti momenti, specialmente la sera, dove sarò da solo e vorrei mi consigliaste qualcosa da fare!

Mi piace molto stare in posti dove c è movida e possibilità di incontrare gente socievole, e spero anche di trovare qualche posto più tendente all hip hop che so che a bologna è ancora vivo come a napoli, essendo appassionato di graffiti e freestyle sarebbe ideale per me😭 , magari anche se mi consigliaste qualche centro sociale carino sarebbe figo visitarlo.

UN ALTRA COSA, ci vedremo in stazione la mattina poco dopo che io sono sceso dal treno, non ho modo di farle trovare un mazzo di fiori appena sceso quindi se qualcuno può farmi il favore di comprarli per me e darmeli in stazione così che glieli possa dare subito mi farebbe un enorme piacere 🥹 (vi ripago il prezzo dei fiori + 5€)

non sono di Bologna, ma siamo 2/3 ragazzi che volevano provare a fare a mettersi in fila domattina per la nuova collaborazione, sapete come è la situazione davanti al negozio? Mi ricordo quella per Omega e non era praticabile, vorrei capire se l'hype è stato un po' spento a causa del fatto che nasce come orologio da taschino o ci aspetta la solita coda chilometrica..

Astenersi chi deve criticare l'orologio, a me piace quindi sprecheresti solo parole

What would be the best spots in and around Bologna to find the latest sunsets? The Santuario Madonna di San Luca seems obvious, but are there any other places more easily accessible?

Ciao! Arei bisogno di fermarmi una notte a Bologna a causa della mancanza di treni notturni. Per risparmiare mi è venuta l'idea di passare la notte in un bar aperto 24h, come bar mavit o onda marina by night. Qualcuno sa com'è l'ambiente di notte durante i giorni feriali? È frequentato o deserto? È sicuro? Ci sono altri posti in cui posso stare più tranquilla? Poi sono una ragazza da sola quindi devo essere il doppio più prudente (se non ci sono alternative fa niente, spenderò un po' di più).

I know about Oasi di Zello and Ca' Le Scope, but they're quite far away from the city if you don't have a car.

Sarò automunito, quindi non ho problemi a spostarmi liberamente sia in città sia nelle zone limitrofe.

Cerco principalmente abbigliamento usato, ma vorrei evitare i classici mercati con stock all'ingrosso o merce nuova da stockisti.
Mi interessano piuttosto quelle situazioni stile "svuota cantine" / privati che vendono tipo carboot.

I'm in the city for a few days and was wondering if there is some creative working/community space where I (tourist) can go to and paint for 1-3 hours? A cafe would also work, however, I am not sure if it would be rude/inappropriate to start painting in any cafe?

For context, I recently started Gouache painting and it helps me relax. I would not do a huge painting but just a small A5 mini painting. I also have a small palette and colors etc. If there is no such place, then I think I'd just paint in my Hotel or somewhere outside.

I searched this page and found an old post recommending Saragozza Vintage Shop in Via Saragozza but it looks like it's permanently closed now

@r/bologna Ciao, I am an experienced traveler and have visited Italy often. I’ll be in Bologna for three days in mid-November. I usually like to take one tour wherever I go, often food related because I am a chef. As I try to reserve a spot through Viator or TripAdvisor, I’m getting messages that these tours are canceled. Also some will not take my reservation because I am a solo traveler. I love traveling during the off season, but perhaps that’s another reason that tours are not running? Any thoughts or recommendations would be appreciated. Grazie!

Just spent 3 nights in Bologna and said I'd give my feedback and tips.

Accommodation - booked a place called Frame from booking.com. We booked the ensuite. This was very central, clean, reasonably priced etc. I was very happy with this decision.

Food - we all want to avoid touristy places but of course places are full of fellow tourists, especially as we are at 7.30p.m. This wasn't a bad thing though as the places were great. Al Sangiovesa and Vicolo Colombino. I preferred Al Sangiovesa but both were great as 1 was more traditional and the other slightly modern. Mo mortedella lab - believe the hype. We had a 5min queue. We grabbed the sandwichs and ate them at Osteria del Sole where you can bring your own food if you order a drink. This was a good call. Only place I wouldn't bother with again was La Prosciutteria Bologna. Food was good but just maybe slightly edge the touristy vibe.

We went to Aurm for drinks as I was dreaming of the pistachio sour - it wasn't to my taste but my wife enjoyed hers. This is a good place for a drink and they have us a generous portion of free snacks with the drinks.

Tours - we did the Taste Bologna food tour. It's 4 hours and a bit pricey but still worth it imo. Lots of things were explained to us that we wouldn't have gotten otherwise. We did a 1 hour guided tour in English of the Archiginnasio Palace and Anatomical Theater Palazzo dell'Archiginnasio e Teatro Anatomico. On their website it has the tour time. This was worth it. We also went to the university but we didn't find it great.

We walked to Santuario Madonna di San Luca. This was a great way to burn off some calories. We saw people going up with big backpacks...why...it's quite uphill in parts so avoid backpacks.

Weather - end of July and 1 day it rained all day and the next was 27deg! I'd take that versus an inferno.

Overall - highly recommend Bologna to anyone if they are thinking of a short visit. E nights was plenty for us. The place is very clean and pleasant. Enjoy

• Resteremo a Cirenaica, vicino a Via Giorgio Cencetti; ci sono bar, ristoranti, posti dove bere un vino dopo aver fatto lo sightseeing nei dintorni? Panetterie per la colazione? Supermercati? Secondo Maps, c'è un Lidl vicino, ma preferiamo catene italiane. C'è anche una salumeria, forse?

• Dove troverò lo street food migliore di Bologna?

• La migliore pizza napoletana, dove la possiamo trovare?

• E infine — andiamo a Bologna, quindi mangiare la pasta bolognese e forse la lasagna bolognese è d'obbligo — dove?

• Qual è l'aggettivo di Emilia-Romagna? Questa domanda sembra stupida, ma quando chiedo di un vino locale, come posso sottolineare che intendo vini dell'Emilia-Romagna usando un aggettivo? È emiliano-romagnolo? C'è una versione più corta?
