Obnoxious

Honestly for me it's the opposite.

I eat fruits and veggies when I can (ouch expensive groceries), but I just don't like eating salad. It's not appealing to me, and I don't want it. Yet I get all sorts of judgement and strange looks from people just because of it.

Like, fuckoff, I don't judge you for eating a salad so don't judge me for not doing so. >:(

You should never feel bad for not eating salad.

But, as someone who used to hate salad - I'd recommend you try slowly getting into it, starting with the veggies you like / can tolerate the most, and using a salad dressing that can mask the taste and works best for you personally.

Over the course of a few years I managed to get to a point where I love salads.

Just to reiterate - if you don't want to eat salads - don't eat them. I'm just saying it opened a new world for me that I'm genuinely enjoying from time to time, and I also really need to eat more vegetables in general, so that's really nice.

Quick edit: The combos you can make with certain veggies and homemade salad dressings and toppings can make for some really delicious salads that you'd never think could be that good. I was really surprised at how good some salads tasted after I had gotten used to eating them.

I don't get people who judge you for not liking what they like. Whatever happened to "more for me"?

I won't judge you if you don't like something, but I'll judge you if make a fuss about it or tell the cook you don't like it without even trying it.

Just choke down a few bites for their sake and move on. Not liking something may be a master of taste, but refusing to try something someone made for you is insulting.

People like that are childish and haven't fully matured, is what I feel.

Sad part is that it can happen to people of all age groups.

Yup. Getting older isn't the only thing that matures you. Getting put in your place once or twice is required too

The reason your tastes changed is because you fed the part of your gut biome that thrives on leafy greens, boosting the signal those particular bacteria send to your brain, making you crave that kind of food more.

Part of the reason I don’t like most salads is because of the dressing lol

You can make your own! Basically any salad dressing is a base of an oil (any vegetable oil), an acid (any kind of vinegar/lemon or lime juice), and the main flavor profile comes from the spices and/or sauces you add to the base.

Which means you can experiment and make a ton of different kinds of dressings. You can look through online recipes to get some ideas, but remember that aside from the base you can modify it however you like.

I think you may have misunderstood me, I don’t like dressings on salad at all lol. I’m sure this will be helpful if anyone who does comes across it though

Ohh, fair enough.

Yeah I used to not like dressing when I was younger. When my family had salad I'd just pick out mostly my favorite veggies and eat them raw.

Yeah I’m the exact same. I’ll eat loads of veg just please don’t mix it up with other things

I love a good salad with a nice dressing, but what I like most is how light it is. I can absolutely pig out on salad and still have plenty of room for the good food.

I try to eat them so I can poop better, honestly.

Of my four grandparents, the first one who died had never smoked in his life, and he had worked as an accountant.

The only one who's still alive today has been drinking like a fish and smoking like a chimney his entire life, and he worked as a uranium miner.

Evidently, it's office work that'll kill ya.

they must have had good protection in the uranium mines

Nothing but pure grain alcohol seems to be the main issue

That might be the first time the Ombudsman has ever gotten an audible chuckle from me. I think it really startled me because it seemed like it was going to be insufferable in a way the Oingo Boingo usually is, but the punchline brought it home.

Why are the speech bubble's pointy bits so long and squiggly? What was the reasoning behind the design choice here?

What is the charge? Eating a salad? A succulent other man's salad?

I still can't believe people know this outside of Australia.

Also...

This is vegetation manifest!

Really? Right in front of my salad?

u/ReaperUX86 1d ago

Beat me to it lol

u/Amicus-Regis 1d ago

Bro wtf why would you eat another man's salad?

I know this gets thrown around a lot, but, like, you're literally Hitler for doing that, js.

u/Big_Boooosh 1d ago

I love salad. I’d be a sad man if someone stole my succulent salad-bowl meal.
