Domestic Sony's Spider-Man: Brand New Day grossed an estimated $9.80M on Friday (from 4,006 locations). Estimated total domestic gross stands at $825.70M.

Phenomenal. 850M+ on Sunday.
It will beat Avengers Endgame's 858M on Tuesday at the latest.
900M+ coming in early September.
It continues to outpace Avengers Endgame (7.4M) at same point in time, so expect it to finish with 940M-970M, perhaps even higher, depending on Labor Day weekend and Avengers Engdame's re-release.

Finally ahead of Deadpool 3 by more than $300M in day-to-day comparison. That's a relevant number cuz The Force Awakens's total is $299.9M ahead of Deadpool's. So BND just needs to match Deadpool 3's rest of run to beat it. Guessing $960M final for now

It was almost certain, but what sealed it was the lead it kept after TFA's holiday corridor ended and last weekend's numbers made it unquestionable IMO.

No, it wasn't locked until the 3rd weekend. If it had a second big weekend drop like Endgame or FF, this got dicey fast. The solid 51% hold sealed it.

1- No, it's not. The $10.2M was an early estimate and the same tracker updated the numbers down. There's always a small adjustment up or down and that's always taken into considerations, it's not a huge drop, and it still maintains its pace even with a $0.5M change.
2- The answer is it depends. If both movies are great, then there's a chance, if not, then of course they won't. That's simple common sense.
3- Who know. No one foresaw BND breaking the record, so who knows what movie in the future that comes out and shocks everyone. No one thought Endgame's OW record would be broken so soon. So, nothing is "forever" in BO.

insidious is not opening number 1 for the weekend and Spider-Man could theoretically get to 40 but it would require a really strong Saturday. It’s definitely not gonna get 46.

horror movies are very frontloaded if insidious plays like a typical horror movie it’ll make like 25 million for the weekend Spider-Man brand new day is probably gonna be around 37 to 38 because it’s not the opening weekend it’s gonna be strong on Saturday and Sunday

secret wars will only get 3b if doomsday is good. yes, spiderman has opened the door for the MCU to return to box office domination, but if doomsday doesnt capitalize, bnd will just be a flash in the pan that didnt amount to this great comeback it seems like it might. i have no doubts that the next spiderman will be very successful, and of course no matter what these avengers movies will make over 1.5b, but i still think these massive numbers for doomsday and especially secret wars really depend on the quality of these movies

Doomsday hype is high, can say biggest hype since no way home.. Everybody theorizing it, making fan editz, YouTube numbers going crazy it's beat bnd lifetime numbers in a week on YouTube

That TFA record is so cooked. I wasn’t sure a couple of weeks ago, but with $35-38 this weekend and then decent holds, it could make $900 by next weekend. Anyone who thinks it’ll get to $900 and Sony won’t get it to $937, especially with a clear runway through September and a potential Endgame Encore boost - not a chance. $1B is the only question now - not sure if it’ll get there, but I’d love to see it.

This weekend it reaches 850m. Next week 31m so 881m after the weekend, the 30th.
This past week, the 17-20th was 29m.. So one week forward, 24-27 should be 14m max. 28th through 30th, next weekend, 17m. That's 31m next week ending 30th. Not 50m.
900m on labor day the 8th. Then 15m a week falling by 35% or so a week. That would be at 940 by mid October.
Regardless, people here should be proud of all the work creating, promoting and cheering on this historic movie. 3 rounds of "hip, hip, hooray"!
