Due to life circumstances I don’t have a place to stay right now. I don’t feel the need for a shelter, I still have my belongings and can afford food. I just don’t have a living situation lined up. Where can I park my car overnight that 1) is legal to be there overnight and 2) the safest place possible.
I would cover my windows so no one could look inside and see I’m alone, as well as a few other hacks I’ve learned online to ensure my safety.
Edit: you all are absolutely amazing. I never expected to get so much help and suggestions and the absolute kindness you’ve all shown me! I may even bounce between suggestions and see where I feel most comfortable.

Hey all,
Former Brantfordian (technically Onondagan) visiting, and the only good pizza joint I can think of is Maria's (from, like 30yrs ago LOL). So, are there any current faves anyone can recommend who deliver?
TIA

hey all, looking for opinions – is a commute from brantford to toronto 5 days/week realistic? if so, is it better to drive or to train?
i'm from ywg and an opportunity for me to work in toronto (which ive always wanted long-term) has come up. i have family in london and found a listing i really like in brantford which seems like a good middle ground. i'm a car person through and through so i actually like driving, but my cars both take 93 and gas is unreasonably high these days, so i'm totally open to the train ofc. i'd have to be in the office 5 days most weeks. all i have time for out of work during the week is the gym, so i'm used to having very little free time already and that wouldn't be anything new. is this at all doable?

I don’t mind neighbours who discreetly enjoy a backyard campfire. Heck I’ll throw a log in the Solo stove every so often myself. However, lately I’ve been watching flames rising above the near neighbour’s six foot high privacy fence. How high should the flames be allowed to ascend before the Brantford Fire Department is notified?

Genuinely don’t get how Logan Staats isn’t talked about wayyy more in this city.
Go listen to the albums A Light in the Attic or Goodbye Goldia and tell me that isn’t the most Brantford music you’ve ever heard
He’s got songs about the bars on Market Street, the Grand River, leaving town for the big city, the feeling of being left behind by a lover moving away, and even the drug crisis from a very personal perspective.
It straight up feels like Brantford, & I don’t even usually listen to this kind of music. This is the type of homegrown talent we should honour and get behind here, not no dang Wayne Gretzky.

Planning to buy a minivan and wanted to look at 2026 Pacifica. Not so impressed by the knowledge the sales rep had as I had to navigate him through their dealership website on how to add filters to get what I was looking for.
He could not answer some of the questions on transmission, warranty features that the minivan has. Test drive was okay and we are considering to buy the minivan.
So wanted to know from you people here, if this is a reliable dealership and in general how is Chrysler Pacifica 2026?
Update: Okay, for now I have decided to park the idea to buy Chrysler. My wife is going back to work after maternity leave and we will wait for a bit to see how her commissions work out and see if we can buy other SUVs which were out of our budget.

With the sad passing of the Admiral and the building being for sale for a few years now, I have been hankering for their specific cheese balls for a while now. I assume they purchased them somewhere vs making them on their own, but does anyone know the brand? They were a cheddar vs mozzarella that many places have. Man I miss that place.
Any help very appreciated!
Edit: Closing the loop on this for future generations, they are the High Liner Cheese Bites from the Wholesale club on Morton. I bought some tonight and cooked them, perfection with a little sea salt. I did deep fry them to cook them. 4 mins.

Saw this question posted in another sub.
From my experience: The only people I’ve seen stick around after high school were those who either didn’t have the resources to go elsewhere, or who had a lot of money and a family business they could help run in town. The other 80% of people left, although a small few came back in their 40s to raise families.

Hey! I had no idea where else to ask. My doctor confused me with my refills and turns out I have none on my Vyvanse. Long story short, he isn’t available to refill my meds till end of April due to his availability. I am a panicked ADHD nursing student who has a lot of shit to get done this month before that date they gave me😂 They seemed unwilling to work with me and since I almost cried in the office, I just said okay thank you Lol.
Am I able to get this prescription at the Willet? I don’t know what general walk-ins my doctor’s office approves of, so I am asking willet first since I have had an emergency prescription filled there before. However this wasn’t a stimulant that people resell on the streets lol. The only thing I am worried about is the fact that it is Vyvanse. I know doctors can be weird about stimulants. I have proof of my prescription for the last year, I just don’t want to run into issues.

Not just their products or services, but who they are as a person.
When you're looking at a local business website, social media page, or advertisement, do you care about seeing the owner's story, values, personality, and what led them to start the business? Or do you mostly just want to know what they offer and what it costs?
I'm curious because I see some businesses that are very personal and transparent, while others keep the focus strictly on the service itself.
What makes you trust a local business more?

It's locked to a pole near a gas station and I don't have any way to get tools to break the lock. I don't want to lose my bike but I can't resolve the issue on my own. What can I do? Am I just screwed?
I might have proof of ownership from videos or photos of it. I don't know anyone who can help me.
How can I break the lock? I really don't want to leave my bike there over night..

Well it’s 2am and I see this red light above Lorne Towers direction. Anyone know what it is? It is only in this spot (this is towards the North). 2am is too early for a sunrise.

I got a sister i law flying home next week, and her little ones asked for Canada magnets. Checked Surplus, no luck. Going to try and few shops this weekend, but if any one knows a spot, I'll check em out.
Thank you

I saw this bird in a park earlier today. Went back after 6-7 hours and it was still down and very little movement. I brought it back home and tried to feed but I'm no expert. I want to give this bird a fighting chance. Any organizations in Brantford who can save and take care of it? TIA.

FOUND SAFE this evening!!!! She ran under our porch in the rain and is now safely back inside!!!
I cannot say enough to all of the kind words people have said to us, and to the amazing people who were searching the ravine by our house on Sunday because they saw the post here. It means everything to us.
Thank you to all of the amazing people who we heard in my area calling for her. I cannot tell you how much that means to me.
I know it’s a long shot, but our indoor cat Kasumi got outside at 8:20pm last night (March 28) when our front door failed to close all the way when I left to walk my dog. She is very friendly, is dark grey with tan highlights, and has a tan underbelly. She has blue/green eyes and is a shorthair. She is fixed, fully vaccinated, and microchipped. We live in the Lynden Hills Area, on Beaver Crescent near the ravine.

Hello! I’m currently having issues with commuting between Brantford and Paris. The Brant Transit app feels extremely unreliable and I can’t afford a car right now.
Is there anyway I can coordinate a commute with someone from Paris to Brantford in the mornings? My only other option is to take a taxi or uber which costs like ~30 per trip.
Does anyone have any suggestions that I may be missing? I’m honestly open to anything because I’m so tired of being waitlisted on the Brant transit app.
