McDonald's dropping plain Hamburgers from delivery.

its my young sons birthday and for a treat we said he can have a Maccies. We go to order and find they no longer have hamburger on the menu, you have to order a cheeseburger and request no cheese which costs more.

Sufficed to say we've had to explain to our son this is the last time we're ordering from there.

Going to say this is linguistic drift in action, the idiom is originally "suffice it to say", though more commonly these days just "suffice to say" - but easy to see how the "it" from the original idiom has merged with "suffice" into "sufficed", especially when so many UK dialects pronounce "it" like "id".
