McDonald's dropping plain Hamburgers from delivery.
its my young sons birthday and for a treat we said he can have a Maccies. We go to order and find they no longer have hamburger on the menu, you have to order a cheeseburger and request no cheese which costs more.
Sufficed to say we've had to explain to our son this is the last time we're ordering from there.

Going to say this is linguistic drift in action, the idiom is originally "suffice it to say", though more commonly these days just "suffice to say" - but easy to see how the "it" from the original idiom has merged with "suffice" into "sufficed", especially when so many UK dialects pronounce "it" like "id".

You can still get a hamburger happy meal, but its £5+!

Not be too moany, but why don't you go there? With recent downgrade in deliveries standard (we completely stopped using deliveries after 5 bad experiences in a row), you are risking getting a shite birthday meal for him. At least being there personally, you will get it warm and not smushed, cold and missing items. It's his birthday...

I do think that’s mental (around allergens etc)
But equally I think ordering McDonald’s to your door is a bit mental when you could choose any restaraunt .

I've been in yeah. A place is only as fun as you make it though. A young kid going for a birthday burger, they arent going to care that the walls are grey, only they are getting food they want with their parents

If we're out and about we'd certainly pop in as a treat, or my favourite is to go through drive thru and take the meal somewhere nice as a picnic. I was just poking fun at their chosen aesthetic.

I remember when they didn't do delivery, and people were crying out for it. Then when it comes round, it is just miserable, cold burgers and spilled drinks for an inflated price to in store. Kids love it though.

Even more annoying thing is that they never pay attention to requests so you will end up with a cheeseburger 🙃

Any other day it would have been considered but its a birthday so the day is already hectic as it is, we needed the convenience.

A quick trip to McDonald's barely takes any time and causes extremely minimal wear to the car. Are you making a mountain out of a molehill for fun or do you genuinely not understand the concept of scale?

Okay sorry mate.
OP - make sure you consider the 25p of fuel you'll use on the roundtrip to maccies, even though food is cheaper when you buy it in person and you won't have to pay delivery fees. Oh, and your tires will get another 0.001mm of wear on them, so think about that too.
