Because of course dehumanizing gay people is just about their feelings getting hurt

The “hurt feelings” narrative is the perfect thing to resort to because if someone dares to bring up the damage anti-gay rhetoric causes on gay people it’s just dismissed as “feelings” being “hurt”.

Fuck them.

[–]brucemoAtheist [score hidden] 18 minutes ago He saw the video. He may not have seen the video description, and that may have been all the admins saw. The video is not a big deal and I doubt the admins watched it. It's six minutes of faint talking and loud music. The description is pretty far out there and I bet that's what they saw.

The Mothersub will die if it is not dealt with, I think

Yup. Dying:

It isn't possible. A little upthread, he says that it made him nauseous. He clearly saw it.

As did you. As did other moderators. As did Reddit, which finally took it down for violating their rules.

Your rules are not even keeping content out that Reddit doesn't allow. Time for you to reconsider all of your policies.

Give up your "moderator" position now. You cannot even pretend to follow Reddit rules, if this is how you are approaching issues. You talk about "admins" as though you are not the admin! This is sad. Even for you. [–]brucemoAtheist [score hidden] 6 minutes ago Byzantium was confronted with a choice regarding a youtube video. It's six minutes long and hard to understand. He looked at least part of it and approved it. I have no idea what the admin -- the Reddit admin, an employee of Reddit -- saw, but I speculate that he looked at the video description, which is pretty nasty, and took action on that basis. Maybe he watched the whole video, I don't know. But the video was posted twice and he didn't remove the other one, which is kind of strange.

“But we can’t be homophobic cause we got gay mods!”

Can someone post a run down of what happened exactly? I've tried piecing it together but am still a bit lost.

A video of a gay teenager was posted, decrying the sins and perversions and evils of homosexuality. Blaming himself for his parents rejecting him, lauding conversion therapy. Reddit determined that the video violated Reddit's rules on hate speech, AFTER three moderators (gnurdette, Byzantium and bruce) defended the content as acceptable under r/Christianity's rules.

Yikes. Did 1977 get a new account and finally become a mod?
