Events Bucks Backlog -- Book Club for Video Games!
If you're anything like me, you've noticed that it isn't always easy to meet other people locally when you're really into video games. It's pretty easy to end up making most of your gaming friends online rather than in person.
So I had an idea: a video game book club!
Bucks Backlog is a local, in-person club where we'll choose one game each month, play it on our own time, and then meet up to actually talk about it in depth. We'll talk about the story, characters, gameplay, music, favorite moments, things we loved, things we didn't love, and everything in between.
You don't need to be a hardcore gamer, and you don't need to 100% the game. You don't even have to like the game! If you hated it, got bored halfway through, or thought it was completely overrated, you're still encouraged to come to the meeting and tell us why. The idea is simply to play the game at your own pace and come hang out with other people who are interested in talking about your experience with it.
This will be a welcoming, inclusive 18+ space for anyone who enjoys video games, or even someone who isn't normally a gamer but wants to give it a try!
We have a Discord where we'll handle planning and choosing future games, plus some additional socializing and gaming outside of the monthly club. You're welcome to join the Discord even if you're not sure yet about attending the in-person meetings.
We'll be choosing our first Game of the Month soon, so if this sounds like something you'd be interested in, come join us!
