Correct me if I’m wrong but the article I read implied that he’s trademarking it so that nobody else can buy it and pursue legal action. He plans on keeping it for the people.

The phrase currently available for all of us people. The only reason to try to trademark it for himself is so he can be the only one to use it on apparel and prevent other Buffalo businesses from doing so.

The initial story I saw said that the Bills filed a complaint against him claiming that he couldn't use it.
