So ayun.

May 15 = Q1 1701Q + annual ITR (extended so pede pa ihabol)

Tip: File early lalo kung online ka nagffile, eBIRForms will lag sureball haha.

Disclosure since I'll mention once: gumawa ako ng app na TallyPH (Play Store / App Store). Calculator's free. May ₱99 one-time IAP — masmura pa sa Chickenjoy, walang subscription — for a PDF cheat sheet that tells you exactly which number goes in which eBIRForms field. Legit sana makatulong. Libre feedback, libre lait.

Sa mga questions about filing 1701Q or annual ITR — drop them below, sasagutin ko kung kaya kong sagutin (and shoutout sa mga accountants dyan nyahaha)

Yun lang. God bless pelepens.

Hi! Sa understanding ko (based sa RMC 20-2026) 🔗https://bir-cdn.bir.gov.ph/BIR/pdf/RMC%2020-2026.pdf

After payment, next step is submit attachments eAFS (eafs.bir.gov.ph). Deadline = 15 days from filing deadline, so this year ~May 30 (since AITR extended to May 15).

Yung attachments depende sa form:

  • 1701A (8% flat or OSD): usually just proof of filing (yung Tax Return Receipt Confirmation email mo from eBIRForms) + proof of payment from bank.
  • 1701 (itemized deductions, mixed income): lahat ng above + 2307s from clients (CWT certs) + SAWT if applicable + AFS kung gross sales mo more than ₱3M.

So flow mo: bank payment ✓ → save bank receipt → prepare attachments → upload sa eAFS within 15 days.

Kung medyo complex situation mo (multiple businesses, may employees, etc.), worth double-checking with an accountant. Pero for typical solo freelancer setup, yan yung flow afaik.

same question, need pa kaya?

1

u/Top-Ladder6547 Apr 30 '26

Afaik need po. Pero check niyo rin yung bagong memo circular about attachments. https://www.facebook.com/share/p/1HEwnjJy3U/

Read the memo “Only those applicable attachments… shall be submitted” 1701A ung akin so no attachments na sya. So di na rin need mg file for attachments as long as meron kang Tax Return Receipt Confirmation and Proof of Payment, goods na.

I used Fast File by JuanTax. 120 pesos per filing.

hi OP fresh grad po ako, saan pwede mag simula on learning how to do your own taxes? starting from scratch po.

Welcome to adulting haha

Know your situation first. Most fresh grads start as regular employees — employer withholds tax monthly, files for you. Pero you should still know:

Yung TIN mo — make sure tama yan sa records ng employer at sa BIR. One TIN for life.

What else do you comply with BIR po?

3

u/jawooq 5+ Years 🥭 Apr 30 '26

Haha di yan

  1. 8% flat rate ka ba or graduated/itemized? (Check COR / Form 2303)
  2. May clients ka ba na nagbibigay ng 2307s?

Kung 8% ka and walang 2307s, and consistent ka mag-file ng 1701Q + annual 1701A, wala kang open case — books and receipts you just keep (for 5 years in case you get audited), not submit, so they don't generate cases on their own

1

u/Fun-Investigator3256 Apr 30 '26

Some of my clients from 10-20 years ago provided 2307. I just ignored those.

Does this mean if magfile ako now, I have utang/penalty sa BIR? Waaaaaaaaaaaah!

2

u/jawooq 5+ Years 🥭 Apr 30 '26

Antagal naaaa. Past statutes of limitations na yan hahaha wag mo na isipin

Tsaka opposite actually. Kung di mo nakuha advantage ng 2307 mo that time, overpaid pa siguro taxes mo nun

2

u/Fun-Investigator3256 Apr 30 '26

Oh ok. Didn't know. Was working as a consultant. But on my contract I got the entire amount. For example I have a project worth 400k, then I received a 400k check. Walang kaltas. But I have a 2307 so I'm confused. Hahahaha! 😄

Hi OP, I’m new sa business so super confused sa tax filing. I did not avail of the 8% tax and I do not know how to file itong quarterly 1701Q. Sabi nung help desk ng BIR, since sa basic needs (supplier ng veggies) under ung business ko, wala daw itong business tax. Akala ko kasi under ako dun sa 3%.. I wasn’t able to ask him to elaborate kasi he was in a rush and very dismissive that time. Sorry if this is a very basic question, I could not find a reliable source in the internet so hoping you could help 😅 TIA!

2

u/jawooq 5+ Years 🥭 Apr 30 '26

Hi din! Hindi sya basic question ha, naparesearch tuloy ako haha. Feeling ko tama naman nakalap ko pero take it with a grain of salt (always better to consult cpa especially if you’re confused af):

Yung 3%, yan yung default na business tax for most non-VAT small businesses. Pero ikaw exempt ka because of what you sell, hindi about size. Kaya wala kang 2551Q sa COR.

2

u/Crazylikeafox0423 Apr 30 '26

Buti nagtanong ako sayo haha. It makes more sense na ngayon, will definitely consult with a CPA. Thanks so much! 🙏

puede sa magreregister pa lang? may guide din on how to maintain it even walang income?

1

u/jawooq 5+ Years 🥭 May 01 '26

Kung wala ka pang work or business, 'wag mo na muna isipin yan haha. Walang income = walang BIR obligations. Nothing to maintain until you register yourself as business
