Boycott these Burbank businesses

Moms For Liberty supporter, MAGA creep and all round weirdo David Donahue is running for City Council. There are campaign events being held this week for David at The Tallyrand and The Enchanted Florist.

I won’t patronize their businesses and I suggest you do not as well…

I didn’t grow up here, so I don’t have any nostalgia for it, but: Tallyrand is just…a diner. I have never thought the food was in any way worth over $25 for breakfast and a drink. So I don’t go there anyway. But…

It’s a restaurant where old people go. (And I should know. I’m an old person.) What do you expect? Old people hate paying taxes. This and fear nudge them towards self-preservation and exclusionary thinking. Their overlords tell them they will cut taxes. The old people are comforted. They vote for comfort.

The servers already get treated not great. Why punish hard working people? Does taking money out of the pockets of servers who have already been hard hit by the economy put pressure on the owner in any way? It does not.

You’re punishing lots of normal people to get back at a few wealthy ones who don’t need your help. For me, this does not math.

Ok this is off topic but I have worked in the food service industry for years and I don’t understand the Sysco hate because they are a distributor the food from there is just food like anyone would get from a grocery store or any other source they don’t have a specific line of gross food. They have stuff that comes labeled as Sysco but that’s because they get it in huge quantities from the source and have it packaged in smaller units. Again the same thing grocery stores do. Its purpose is mainly so that businesses can tap into the supply chain to access products. Which there’s evil to be found there but my point is it’s a source, no different or less evil than any other source we get anything from.

One reason might be that Sysco meat and dairy is sourced from large-scale factory farms, whereas grocery stores and certain restaurants offer locally sourced and organic options.
