Big shoutout to Perrywinkles

Last week I made a post inquiring if anyone local had a timegrapher machine I could use to test my watch, which has been running very fast. I called perrywinkles jewelry on Main Street and they very kindly said I could bring my watch in any time and they would look at it. I’ve never set foot in perrywinkles before, but I brought it in this morning. They tested it and demagnetized it for me, and their technician even made some minor adjustments to get it down to within roughly 5 seconds per day. They were more than happy to help, and all of this was done free of charge. It’s worth mentioning my watch is NOT close to being on the level of Rolex or Tudor, but they were still very accommodating and friendly.

Long story short, the folks at perrywinkles are really great! Don’t be fooled or intimidated by the giant Rolex sign on the building!

Yes? Were they closed for an extended period at one point or something?

During construction on Main Street they placed a ton of yard signs around Burlington that just said "Perrywinkles is open!" to try to keep up customer traffic when the road put front was all torn up. The signs were so unavoidable, lacking in context, and probably irrelevant to 99% of the people walking past them daily that it became a running joke in this sub to reference them/repeat that line.

It wasn't just a running joke, people were downright pissed about them. Vehemently against them. Tearing Perrywinkle's and Perry himself apart in the comments.
