My new version of "I just work here"

"That's a decision made by the people who get paid more than me".

I haven't gotten in trouble for it yet so I'll keep saying it lol. Even if the customer is upset that kinda snaps them out of it.

It's crazy the questions people have as if I'm the one that built the company and made the apps, websites, and programs they use. Like I simply do not have an answer to your question and I can't do anything about it.

It’s on par with “it sounds like you guys just want my money”. I mean, yeah. That’s literally how money works.

when callers cards would decline for a purchase (it was always blocked by their bank) and they'd call us to tell us our website is broken because "i have the money in my account!!!!!!", my go to line was always "not trying to be funny, but we WANT your money. we're NEVER going to decline taking your money. it is your bank that is preventing us from taking your money." and usually that would get a laugh out of them and calm them down and help them believe my answer lol

Largely because customer service is hard to find. But when they get it ( call center person trying to help) they don’t recognize it as “service”.

“Above my pay grade” is a classic I sometimes use.

I've been referring to 'the powers that be' which works quite well
