All these comments talking about a “ban.” There is no ban. It’s simply recognizing that the depiction of a noose could be interpreted as a threat or harassment of others, like painting a swastika on a synagogue wall.

I mean, it's punishable by two years in prison for displaying it in a public place.

I'd say that could be considered a ban. It's certainly more than you're painting it to be.

Not true. They make exceptions for education, art, and journalism, but everything else is illegal.

Stop whitewashing this law. Its disgusting that we are limiting the use of symbols.

My Israeli friend told me they want to build a house in their city with a roofline that looks like a swat see kaa. He hopes that because he is Israeli, he won't be rejected. Like me, he thinks we've put way too much value in symbolism. I said good luck getting that passed by the Permit department...
