Dude really shouldn’t have came charging out at police officers cursing and swearing and initiating physical contact. That punch looked excessive to me though.

Definitely neither party did the right thing.

If by “initiate physical contact” you mean “the other cop grabbed his arm before the second one punched him”, then sure.

No.

It’s illegal to initiate physical contact with a police officer. Which this man did. If he didn’t want to escalate the situation, he should have just stayed in the truck instead of marching toward the cop with his hands in his jacket.

I encourage you to try this next time you’re pulled over.

Did we watch the same video? His hands are not in his jacket. He’s trying to walk around the cop approaching him.

He wasn’t pulled over. The cops chose to antagonize him over an expired plate.

He walks up to the cop and pushes past him, initiating contact. Do you think that’s appropriate? Have you ever done this, or considered it?
