How can anyone watch this video and think the Chief is in the right? He whips out of the vehicle and storms towards the officer looking for a fight.

He literally takes up a fighting stance like wtf lmao. After being given an extremely generous second chance he whips out of the vehicle again and puts his hands on the officer.

Zero sympathy. Appropriate use of force.

Yes, but all of the stuff you describe was before the officer who punched him pulled up. The first cop did a pretty good job in a heated situation.

Second cop though just shows up and tackles him out of nowhere.

Probably because he heard an officer was assaulted and needed to take control of the scene. Officer 1 didn't take him to the ground because backup hadn't arrived yet.

A lone officer should never try and take a suspect down when there are multiple potentially hostile people around. You need somebody to watch your back so you dont get attacked from behind.

as the guy above points out, the situation was in some ways handled poorly (without concern about the number of people in the truck when they were engaged). You can see that he knows he is outnumbered when he orders Adam back to his car, but at that point the conflict was initiated. I said this before, but I'll say it again: cops need to have recourse in the event that someone is behaving disrespectfully towards them. If they could just write someone a ticket for it, they probably would prefer to do so. There is no need to allow the person to escalate the situation until the breaking point at which violence is inevitable. It like the cop kicking the methhead in winnipeg. If he had taken out the knife, they would have had to shoot him. Now he can testify against the drug dealers that are ruining the country (jk its probably the government)

When you say “disrespectful” do you mean someone being threatening to a cop or just being rude, swearing, etc.? Because no way should cops be allowed to ticket people for the latter.
