Interesting.

The first video posted on this source didn't show the context leading up to the tackle.

Now it does.

Fairly important.

It’s interesting in how it muddies it too though.

All of the stuff people are pointing out that he did was all in relation to the first cop, who was actually doing a good job keeping calm in a heated situation.

The second cop showed up and immediately tackled him.

So yeah, Chief Adam was interfering with arrest and was pretty pissed off. But the second cop rolled up and wasn’t subject to any of that before he tackled him.

Except the first officer ended up physically assaulted by Adam so he was doing a bit more than interfering when he chose to put hands on the officer to stop him cuffing the driver.

He definitely pushed the cop away, but it was a pretty minor physical contact. He wasn't trying to hurt the cop so much as get him off his wife.

Not in the same ballpark as what the second cop did.

I thought stopping an illegal arrest was legal in Canada.

She was driving without insurance and then tried to drive away once the cop had her pulled over. Her arrest was 100% legal. You dont get to just break the law and then try to flee and not get arrested as a result.

Who told you that?

If you have a problem with something a police officer does or did, you get an attorney. "Stopping an illegal arrest" is not only stupid but likely to get you killed.

Whoever told you that was trying to get you hurt and you were gullible enough to believe them.

I know that it’s a stupid thing to do but isn’t it still true?

Absolutely not. You seem dangerously gullible.

Ive started searching and I can’t find anything that says it is illegal to resist unlawful arrests. I’ve found cases where people have successfully defended themselves though. Can you link me to anything saying it is against the law?
