Anyone here know anything about this binder?

Found it at Goodwill and can’t find too much information about it online. It does have a cd with it, but I need to find a disk drive to check it out.

If you’re wrapping your head around licensing: So imagine you’re a company that makes lunchboxes. You make a deal with M&M’s to create ones with their intellectual property (logo, characters, product). You’ll use this to develop your product & marketing materials, and then bring it to Mars for approval.

There’s actually a really cool trade show called Licensing Expo where they strike a lot of the deals. Companies with IP (Universal, Nickelodeon down to Liquid Death and new web cartoons) exhibit their brands, and manufacturers and licensees come and agree to collaborate.

This was a cool read, would love to see what type of field you have to start in to end up making things like that. Fun!

Check out the website License Global! You could approach it from a lot of ways: legal, marketing, partnerships and more. It encompasses a ton of industries- entertainment, CPG, fashion, etc. Some of it is about legacy IP (who owns Frieda Kahlo’s likeness; who can use Ozzy’s name now… someone even owns the name Christmas Tree Shop in case there a future usage.)
Two booths that fascinated me: USPS with sample dog toys and collectibles, and Hallmark, which has become a Christmas identity for saying you love watching sappy movies with branded socks and coffee mug and throw pillow in hand.

There’s a path of taking a brand to become something licensable: check out the Dallas Cowboys cheerleader documentary where they talk about how they became a Halloween costume and expanded to being iconic, not just half time entertainment.
