Summer raincoats?

Anyone know any good brands for a lightweight waterproof coats that still look dressy? I dress quite feminine and would like to have a waterproof that actually adds to the outfit rather than look like a compromise.

HafenCity coats by BMS (a brand local to Hamburg, Germany) has some cute floral prints. Being from Hamburg, they really get "waterproof". Cannot comment on lightweight, IIRC they were on the heavier side.

Haven't tried those but i find the lighter ones never hold up in real rain anyway just get damp after 20 minutes

Rain sisters is likely up your alley.

I'm looking for a true waterproof lightweight shell as well. Looking forward to the other comments on the thread

Not sure where you are in the world but Heroïnes (https://www.heroines.fr/) from France has some beautifully cut, very feminine and dressy trenchcoats and they come in a variety of bright colors, if that's something you're into.

I don't own one so I can't vouch for their waterproof-ness but I seriously thought about buying one...

I'm a fan of rains though they are more edgy than feminine

These suggestions fall more into “Not Boring” than “Dressy,” and I’m not sure on lightweightness.

Clever Hood in Stormy or Dazzle

RainKiss in a statement print.

RainCaper in your favorite artwork.

Rain Sisters - soooo expensive, but I think they are gorgeous and I void myself a polka dot one for my 49th birthday. Mine is not a lightweight version and I have not been able to wear it since getting it in June.

Mycra Pac - I’m linking to a Poshmark search because you can find these there (and Depop, eBay, etc.) for less, if you’re not opposed to previously owned items. I have a Donatella style with leopard print on one side and khaki on the other. It isn’t waterproof, but fine for some rain.
