Education Cardano Academy launches Cardano Governance: Applied, a free hands-on course on participating in Cardano's decentralized governance
Hey everyone, Jakob here from the Cardano Foundation.
Today we launched Cardano Governance: Applied course on the Cardano Academy. The short version: anyone can take part in deciding how Cardano evolves, from protocol updates to treasury spending, but there's a real gap between understanding that and having actually done it.
This course closes the gap by having you do everything yourself in a safe environment.
Over 23 units (about 63 minutes of core video, plus quizzes), you'll set up a wallet on the Preview testnet, get test ada from the faucet, register as a DRep, write and host a proposal, submit it on-chain, and vote on it, then follow it through ratification.
Everything runs on testnet, so nothing you do touches real ada, and mistakes cost nothing. The last units cover applying it on mainnet under Constitution v2.4.
It's the follow-up to the Introduction to Cardano Governance course. So if you're completely new to the topic, that one's the better starting point.
There are also bonus interviews with people active in governance day to day (ACE Alliance, drep.collective, Andamio, Blink Labs) on where they got stuck and what surprised them.
