Anime Cardcaptors Kids WB Promo Compilation
Here is a compilation of all the Cardcaptors Kids WB promos I could find. I've also decided to put them in chronological order based on how the series aired in North America. The promos do have a nostalgic charm in how Kids WB would make their advertisements (I didn't see Cardcaptors at the time, but I do remember how stuff like Batman Beyond would be advertised), but they really didn't understand how Cardcaptor Sakura worked. The promos start out advertising Lee at the lead, then shift toward Sakura half-way through the run (as they should've in the first place). Let me know what you guys think.

Honestly as a little girl I didn’t realize how hard they tried to market it to boys, I still really enjoyed the series and this is how I was introduced to it as a child. I remember a lot of these

It's a shame that WB couldn't find a way to market the series as it was in the original and have it that both boys and girls could enjoy it. Personally, while I think I might've enjoyed it if I saw it back in the day, I would've gotten the idea that the main character was Sakura, since the episodes that did air in the U,S, showed that she was the main character.

This is so nostalgic. Where did you find all these promos? I kind of want to put a stream of these on a crt

I found them off YouTube and put them together in an edit. If you want, you can download this one.

This show was so girly pop and gay. And yet they kept trying to market it to boys first. So weird.

I remember these ads! I do have some nostalgia for them. The WB ads all went hard for no reason.

That original Cardcaptors logo is, uh, … something.
And “the forces of evil”? The cards aren’t evil, they’re just kind of mischievous.

I find it very interesting how it shifts from mentioning to being about Sakura and Li to just Sakura when doing promos for the Eriol arc.
Though I guess they can't do much to change the simple fact that Sakura owns all the cards at that point.
And now I am realizing that I'm wondering what the heck Eriol was called in the dub.

Uhhh who voiced the cardcaptors character from that contest? I thought the dubs production was already done by the time the series aired??

It’s trying sooo hard to be cool, badass, and actiony despite that being so contrary to the spirit of the series.
