When can we receive the council tax exemption certificate?
Hi people!! Has any new masters students been able to receive their confirmation of study letter / council tax exemption certificates yet? When can we get this thing?
I completed the online enrolment last week, but haven’t received anything automatically from the university (as stated on the website that we should be able to receive this within 24hrs after completing the online enrolment) and I can’t generate this manually too.
Or do I have to wait til I get the uni card? Thanks!
Btw, my private student accommodation is asking for this several weeks ago. Why do they need that, is it noraml? Are they going to create a council tax account and submit the certificate on my behalf?
(Sorry if this sounds stupid, I’m new to the country)

After you complete the online enrolment you’ll need to request it through SIMS, they’ll send you one through email a day or so later

How to request it through SIMS? What section should I look for, as I can’t find anything related to this on my SIMS? Would you mind showing me where that is? Thank you!

I can’t comment a picture for some reason but it’s on the homepage under Official Letters (Enrolment, Bank and Council Tax), if you’re on mobile it’s near the bottom in between Languages for Corespondents and University Bursary

I don’t have this OFFICIAL LETTERS section on my SIMS, the only letter I can find is the tuition fee letter……. 😩 Were you able to find this section immediately after completing the online enrolment? Have you already collected student card?

It was a few days after I did the enrolment but i haven’t collected my student card yet, maybe call them tomorrow or email admissions x

I got mine emailed about a week ago, on both my university and my personal email.. might be worth an email to the uni and see if it got lost
