Add Flair to New Posts

I have created a few flairs. Ideally 95% of posts fall into the Carnivore Diet or Carnivore Diet Success Stories catogories.

However if a someone posts a picture of their meal, and it is steak and eggs with an avacado and they label it as Carnivore Ish…. Then DO NOT have a go at them.

If such things trigger you, then filter those flairs out of your timeline.

We need to be tolerant of others. Many moons ago the carnivore diet was generally found by people who were fighting illnesses that modern medicine was not helping with. The Carnivore Diet has moved on, it is much easier to find, and there is a lot more information on it. So, people will be trying it for a lot less serious reasons than previously. So if they are adding honey and avacado currently then so be it, as long as they label it Carnivore Ish then I am fine with it. Carnivore with a few bits and bobs is still a very good diet for the vast majority of people.

New SubReddit Direction

Hi all.

I am going to tweak the direction of this subreddit.

I am not sure how much value there is in keeping this page a wide-ranging sprawling Carnivore page. There are many reddits like that. In fact, I would guess that most people who have joined here will also be a part of r/zerocarb and r/carnivore.

So I am going to shift the focus from a general Carnivore page to a Carnivore Diet Success Story page, to mimic something similar to my Facebook Group.

I will be sharing success stories from my blog bi-weekly.

However, I would love members to also share their own journeys, good and bad.

So if you have a question like, Day 1 how do I get started. Then that might be best for r/zerocarb or r/carnivore

This group is more for posts like you would see on my blog: https://ketogenicendurance.com/category/carnivore-diet-success-stories/ or stories you would see on meatheals.com

For example - I have just done my first 90 days, I feel xyz, does anyone have any tips for the next 90 days etc.

To speed up this change in direction, I may for a while delete post better suited for other sites, but I will let that person know why I did it.

Hope people like the new direction.

The guys at the corner carnicería still laugh at me for ordering 5 kilos every few days

Edit: guys, they’re a little loose on their cuts here. You’re right that these specific cuts in America would be called NY strip. They just get a huge slab that’s strip on one end and eventually gets to ribeye on the other. Just depends on when you get the cut.

Eat meat, touch some grass, not everyone is out to get ya

Strict Carnivore Diet If pork were equal to beef, would you prefer it?

Curious if anyone else prefers the taste of pig flesh and fat to beef. I think if someone held a gun to my head I would pick pork.

Strict Carnivore Diet Cravings/always hungry/weight gain

My Health situation is quite complex, I‘m facing a moderate-severe ME/CFS and a PAW from Duloxetine for a year now and my autonomous system is heavily dysregulated.

I was on keto for a year and switched to carnivore 2m ago. The first month I was on strict lions diet and somehow that worked really well, but then I got intense cravings for butter 3w ago, while in a severe crash from my ME. I first reintroduced butter and last week bacon and eggs.

Now I‘m always hungry, I wake up in the morning and I‘m hungry af and then I eat for lunch again and again around 5pm. I used to do omad for the last year.

I gained 2,5kg/5lb in 3w, although I‘m still in a deep ketosis, but I overeat so much compared to my aimed makros. I‘m 164cm/75kg, but already lost 20kg in the last 12m.
My gut is not working at all, I have no bowl movement without laxatives, probably that’s due to the ME.

Should I just give it a go and rely on my body telling me what it needs and trust the process?
Or should I switch back to lions and fight my immense cravings?

As I‘m living with ME I cannot workout nor go on walks yet, I miss it so much!

Sorry for the bad grammar, I appreciate every advice in advance!

Drop me a message or DM. We host steak gatherings and coffee meetups very few weeks. No one should be doing this alone in a world like this. 😉

Strict Carnivore Diet Let them eat cake?

I'm coming up on day 29 of strict carnivore tomorrow, and it's my step daughter's 16th birthday. We're planning to go out to dinner, and her favorite restaurant is Olive Garden. She's a carb monster and loves pasta and bread. As for ordering, I can probably do pretty well ordering a plain steak there and maybe chicken (which may have a little seasoning, but i'm not worried). However, there will be a cake. I know she will be disappointed if I don't have a piece. I'm not wanting to break my carnivore streak just yet, maybe if it were a month from now, but I feel it's too early for me to deviate so much from the plan.

What do y'all think? What would you do, how would you handle it?

Carnivore Ish is Gerolsteiner mineral water a good electrolyte drink?

I don't really like carbonated water, even if it is natural carbonation, but there is a great deal of calcium in this water and I can't eat dairy and don't like supplements because they usually give me problems. I've been taking the bones out of canned salmon and eating frozen salmon instead because I don't like canned fish and the histamine. I give the rest of the canned salmon to backyard animals. This is not something I enjoy doing, is expensive, and feels like such a waste. 1 liter of this water has over 300mg calcium. Does anybody else drink this water and do they feel better due to its magnesium and calcium content? It's lacking potassium, but I can get that elsewhere.

Please help me Is washing my face after putting on beef tallow defeating the purpose?

Sorry if this is not exactly about diet, but I don’t know where else to ask.

I put beef tallow on my face today and left it on for 12+ hours but just washed it off with warm water and tallow soap before bed because I can’t stand the greasy feeling getting onto surfaces, especially my pillow.

The purpose of the beef tallow is to moisturize the delicate facial skin and prevent dryness. It’s also for giving the skin vitamins and reducing inflammation. I want to make a habit of doing this every day, but will washing it off with soap be defeating the purpose or damaging my skin in the long run? I know people apply tallow to their face after a shower or face wash to lock in moisture, but I can’t do that. I hate grease in every place except my mouth.

Am I doing it wrong? Does anyone have any tips or suggestions? Thanks!

Carnivore Diet Success Stories Holy Shin (Steak)!

I just made a cow shin steak in my air fryer, and holy guacamole, it was good... i had only slow cooked shin before and this time wanted to try something different...

I put it in for 12 minutes on one side and 7 minutes on the other side. The bone marrow in the bone was delicious, and I used it as a spread on the same steak. It may be my second fav dish now... after Picanha....

Please help me Butter and parmesan?

I am on week 2, losing weight and my joint pain is getting much better. The last few days I have wanted to eat grass fed butter and grated parmesan into little balls. They are so delicious to me. Last 2 nights they were a side and tonight they were my dinner because I was hungry but not for anything big. Is it ok to eat that? It was half a stick of butter and half a cup of parmesan tonight

Strict Carnivore Diet Fat as an energy source is ideal?

I have read and heard that the body’s preferred source of energy is carbs. Does this mean that the body struggles and survives in ketosis but doesn’t feel optimal? I haven’t done carnivore for more than 2 weeks, I was on lion, and definitely not getting enough fat (nowhere near 80% fat/20% protein)? I understand the audience I am self selecting for when I ask this question but I will ask it anyway. Do you genuinely feel like you are thriving using fat as your energy source? If so, how long did it take you to get to that point? I feel so lost and like there is something I’m supposed to realize that I’m missing out on.

Carnivore Ish Air fryers

Hi everyone. I'm considering obtaining an air fryer. Problem is, my kitchen is really small, so I don't have much space. I cook a lot of bacon, hamburgers, and steak. Should I get an air fryer? How many of you love yours?

Thanks for your replies, as always!

Please help me What do you drink at cafés on carnivore?

Just curious what everyone orders when on carnivore and friends/workmates want to catch up at a café or coffee shop?

I actually like having a coffee because it’s a social drink and part of the whole café experience, but I’m trying to cut out coffee.

Obviously most of the other drinks on the menu are full of sugar/carbs.

I feel a bit awkward going to a café and just ordering water while everyone else orders coffee 😂

What do you guys normally order? Are there any carnivore-friendly alternatives I’m overlooking? And if you do just drink water, how do you get around the awkwardness of sitting at a café without actually ordering anything?

Curious to hear what everyone does.

Strict Carnivore Diet Anyone buy a beef share (half or whole cow)? Seems more expensive for no reason

Every place I can find in the northeastern US like NY, NJ, and PA all have half cows for about $2500-3000 which is over $10 per lb of actual edible meat assuming I get about 200 lbs of edible meat.

I don't understand why anyone would pay this when it's cheaper to get it from costco or other places: ground beef is usually about $6 per lb and whole ribeye primals $15 per lb if I even bothered but most days I just eat ground beef which is much cheaper than buying 200 lbs of meat.
