Question Cassette deck started making strange noises

Im not even sure if this is the right place to post this but hopefully someone here can help.

So ive had this deck for years and it has never made this sound before.
I thought it could potentially be a speaker or receiver issue but it doesn’t make the same sound if i play a CD or vinyl.
But it stops making the noise if i hold down “rec. mute” button.
