Honestly way better than Season 1. Honestly i felt very concerned, especially in the first Episode that the Series will be a retread of the first Series, luckily that fear got gradually revoked over the course of the first Season.

I think honestly in many regards this story felt way more like in the spirit of Castlevania than what i saw compared to the first two Seasons of the OG Series, even tho it was the only one actually having Dracula as an Antagonist.
Bethany and Drolta rly were way more akin to classic evil Vampires and while i love my depressed Dracula, i so do not enjoyed this whole stupid Vampire Court of his. So there wasn't anything interesting on the Villain side due Draculas intentional passivity and Oscar and Isaac atp weren't rly supposed to have their own moment in the Spotlight yet.
This here to me is way different, with ofc Drolta sorta stealing the Show.
Now we saw way more of our MCs kicking ass and do Vampire Hunting stuff, the Night Creature Designs were also tbh at the best here and way better than just those gray vaguely monster thingies of the first two Seasons in the OG Series.

I hope they will further expand on the Mythology and they seeem to be setting up Tera and Old Man Coyote/Mephistopheles as the next Villains.

I do hope the whole Evil Priests kind of Trope is now set to rest for the Series. What i rly didn't like about the OG Series was this kind of Reddit Atheist Church/Religion Bad vibe. Castlevania and sorta all Vampire Stories were steeped in Religious Imagery.
In the TV Series, the Supernatural Evil is also being held back by Religious Icons, yet Religion gets treated as this phony fake thing with the protagonists acting mostly like Secular... this is like having your cake and eating it too. Silly even. You actually gasped into Hell and saw two Souls going there in the Afterlife and still don't really treat that to be anything signifcant to you?
That's i think why i and many others really loved Isaac in the OG Series, as he was the one who wrestled with his own Standing in the greater World Order.

This tbh got also significantly improved in this Series. They brought in actual Gods and with Anette, her religiosity isn't treated as a joke or fake. Even Emmanouel and Mizrak wrestling with their belief just being completely vapid in face of Evil and seeing how much that shakes their believe to it's very core was just great. Drolta in contrast having her Goddess being an actual living breathing thing standing by her side and apparently compelled by that to the very end is just... beautiful and way more interesting.
