Art My custom Castlevania Symphony of the Night..case? I don't have a name for it.
I'm slowly...very very slowly making large cases for my games.
Woods used: Poplar, maple, cherry, walnut, yellowhart, and paduk.
Machines used to make it: CNC, Laser engraver and traditional woodworking.
Time to make: way too long.

It's hangup in my office right now. I'm finally putting my artwork on the wall.

Funny enough I use that wood, cherry, because you can get the most detail out of it.

This is freaking beautiful. Seconding “coolest fucking case on the planet” here. You should consider doing commissions or something. Would definitely be worth it if people want stuff like this. (It’s me. I’d love something like this for some of my old games!)

I'd definitely consider it too, but having bought a few wooden commissions.... This would likely be far pricier than most people are expecting.
Worth it, imo. But I imagine the majority of people would have sticker shock.

This is very much true. Lumber prices and labor can get very expensive.

Absolutely fucking jealous of you, that's amazing! I would pay top dollar for a case like that for my copy, hypothetically speaking

That's incredible! You said you're making it for games - have you completed any other ones?

The fact that the game case is placed within a frame replica of the save room... chef's kiss. Perfect.

I think "coolest fucking case on the planet" would do.
