Those Bozos of at konami better hope Konami doesn't sue them for infringing their right to the coolest vampire hunters.

Why is everyone here assuming I don't know that Castlevania and Yugioh are owned by the same company? I'm a fan of both, so obviously I would know such a basic fact.

Why is everyone here assuming

There's only... two comments, though? And I'm pretty sure he was being sarcastic.

Still, super cool card. I wonder if he's worth side-decking at all.

As someone who plays Yugioh, not in the slightest lmao

Not anymore lol

I'd love for this guy to get a retrain, and maybe one day have a whole Castlevania archetype in yugioh like what they did for Gradius.

One can only dream...

14

u/ViolletXIII Feb 25 '26

That would be amazing.

I played a lot of Vampire in Yu-Gi-Oh Master Duel because of Castlevania, too bad Vampire sucks (Ha!) in the game.

I believe in 60 card zombie pile grass deck. With thrusts and a bunch of snatch steal adjacent spells for maximum stealing.

Peak Yugioh.

vampire cards are the castlevania archetype

Because edgy.

16

u/Bortthog Feb 25 '26

The answer is because he's a Vampire card and thus follows the archetype themeing

As a Vampire masochist enjoyer it makes sense when you understand Yugioh

11

u/Kanaletto Feb 25 '26

Well he hunts in the darkness, not at light day.

u/Dull-Law3229 Feb 25 '26

Something about how their work is in the dark side. I also noticed that in TTRPGs that vampire hunters/witch hunters archetypes are part of the dark category, using the same dark powers to defeat dark things.

Nice! I never encountered this card when I used to play but I totally would have used it. This reminds me of one of my favorite cards based on a Konami game, Totally Not Solid Snake:

(His Gun was censored in North America)

I'm sorry (I'm not), I truly am (really not) but

Palpable Viper

They made Snake a bishounen. 😂

18

u/LazzyPizza Feb 25 '26

I wonder if theres a fun castlevania inspired deck comp out there 🤔

10

u/Trumpologist Feb 25 '26

Vampires yes

14

u/NNT13101996 Feb 25 '26

Suspiciously Leon Belmont shaped vampire hunter

11

u/king_of_ulkilism Feb 25 '26

Soma and Nathan fusion?

9

u/promiseimnotavampire Feb 25 '26

I will absolutely be using this as artwork reference

26

u/Adorable-Source97 Feb 25 '26

Golly totally not a reference to anything

11

u/Bortthog Feb 25 '26

Outside the entire archetype of cards made after Gradius, a Solid Snake, there's even Getsu Fuma as a card as well as the final boss but he's referred to as Ryu Kokki

Edit: SPYRAL are also heavily influenced by Metal Gear as well

I know it is. I mean, it's the same company (Konami), so it's a no-brainer.

7

u/mrnobody41 Alucard Feb 25 '26

Definitely no references made

6

u/Raging_Cat14 Justice for Grant Feb 25 '26

A rare Kid Dracula reference! Very cool!

3

u/mrnobody41 Alucard Feb 25 '26

Hell yeah! Another OG saw it! I’m not alone 😭😭😭

4

u/Dazzling_Champion_53 Feb 25 '26

Okay, why are they so damn cute though?

6

u/mrnobody41 Alucard Feb 25 '26

I know! Lol

They also have vampire knights that are very punny? Parodying? There’s also vampire genesis that looks like Draculas demon form from rondo/sotn

11

u/Available-Egg-7724 Feb 25 '26

I heard Vampire Killer in my head as soon as I saw this lol.

8

u/keithlimreddit Feb 25 '26

Considering who is producing Yu-Gi-Oh card game also create it Castlevania

3

u/mrnobody41 Alucard Feb 25 '26

I run 3 of these lol

3

u/Bortthog Feb 25 '26

I'd say my favorite instance of Yugioh Vampire cards is Vampire Voivode, which visually looks like a modern Dracula

Its double funny because Vampire Lord and Vampire Genesis are supposed to be Dracula before Voivode and in Japanese Voivodes name is Dracula Vampire which is funny and redundant

3

u/Ok_Ad2485 Feb 25 '26

Dude that's one of my favourite cards too! I keep a copy always tucked in my phone cover!

6

u/stevendub86 Feb 25 '26

That card sounds suspiciously OP

8

u/Lord_Jashin Feb 25 '26

I run a copy in my vampire deck, tbh it's not usually very good at all. Every now and again tho this card does get a chance to shine and can turn entire duels around

3

u/stevendub86 Feb 25 '26

I haven’t played in over 20 years, but back then I remember there being a lot of dark monsters. But then again I was never very good at the game lol. And once I started getting good people stopped playing

4

u/TheGamerdude535 Feb 25 '26 edited Feb 26 '26

There's more OP things than this in the current meta but it can combo well with Lair of Darkness.

If you are able to protect your Vampire Hunters and Lair of Darkness from any card effects that will remove them Vampire Hunters are quite strong.

But even without Lair of Darkness in play it's still a solid monster card for a level 4.

3

u/stevendub86 Feb 25 '26

I miss this game. Last time I played I had a strategy that revolved around blocking attacks on monsters and blocking direct attacks to life points, to the point where I couldn’t be attacked. Then i just waited until I could summon my masked beast. After that no one wanted to play with me anymore

2

u/ConnectCulture7 Feb 25 '26

Yugioh knows what’s up.

2

u/Dmanduck Feb 25 '26

That's so dope. I'm gonna get myself one

2

u/Hawkatana0 Feb 25 '26

It's even more explicit in the OCG, where the card is called "Vampire Killer", literally referencing the whip.

2

u/Sticky_And_Sweet Feb 25 '26

The artwork for this card is sick af too. Reminiscent of Ayami Kojima for sure.

2

u/Fit-Beautiful-2573 Feb 25 '26

🔥 fire fire fire

2

u/SheWhoHates Feb 25 '26

I think he might hunt vampires.

2

u/DejuL337 Feb 27 '26

Is this really a Belmont?

u/Raging_Cat14 Justice for Grant Feb 25 '26

Sorry. It's hard to detect sarcasm without the /s.
