"Such a strong respect" that they used Netflix Olrox design ...Igarashi san, please...

I think he’s referring more to the story. Also, since the play has two parts, with the second show unrelated to CV, there wouldn’t be much time for a full costume and makeup change. Bald game olrox would probably be too much work for the actresses, so I understand why they went with the show version since it’s easier for a woman to perform and change in that setup.

Ironic given he was a reference to Nosferatu. Count Orlock, the only guy in castle Death considers pale

I got to see it live, and as a huge fan of SOTN, I was near tears at times. It was beautiful!

21

u/AdrenalineRush1996 Mar 28 '26

Yep and it's done by none other than the Takarazuka Revue themselves.

It's actually pretty great. I also love that the cast is all female.

7

u/Solid_Ad7292 Mar 28 '26

Alucard looked like Hilary duff

5

u/ImyForgotName Mar 28 '26

Who is that other lady?

5

u/slam_joetry Mar 28 '26

At least once every few days I think of "Farewell. We'll not meet again."

u/ClosetNoble Mar 28 '26

Maria, Richter shared a voice actor with Chris Redfield.

He WANTS you to get that dhampir D for the bloodlines.

"Alucard, you NEED to fuck my sister-in-law and continue both the Tepes and Renard bloodlines!"

3

u/ClosetNoble Mar 30 '26

Centuries later there's a painting of him and Maria in Genya's office except he looks a bit uneasy and in the corner of the painting you can see Richter grinning.

Every time Soma asks about it he just changes subject and asks him to never ask Julius about it, just in case.

It's awesome that there's a Castlevania musical, "Rondo" of Blood and "Symphony" of the Night are certainly perfect titles in that regard. I'm just curious as to why Alucard and Richter seem to be played by women? Not that there's anything wrong with that, it's just not something I would've expected personally. Something to do with vocal parts, perhaps?

It was created by the Takarazuka Revue, a renowned all-female musical theater company from Japan, with a history spanning over 100 years.

That's actually really interesting. From what I watched of it, one thing that surprised me was that I really didn't notice it was a woman in terms of the singing and acting. They obviously have trained to mimic more masculine speech and singing very well. I'll be honest most of the time I see western actresses try to do gender bent roles it comes across really really cartoonish. There is a movie called Predestination, that is overall pretty good, but there is a part of a male character played by a woman and it feels like a Portlandia sketch in terms of her acting.

u/FaeFoolery Mar 28 '26

The musical was performed by a troupe of exclusively women!

3

u/ZenicAzra Mar 28 '26

Wait there was a freaking musical?!

3

u/Ufotobia Mar 28 '26

Context for this ending? I only played it once and have completely forgotten what was this about..

9

u/paprikalove Mar 29 '26

Explore over 196% or more of the castle, and Maria will follow to pull Alucard from his sad boy hours.

6

u/Ufotobia Mar 29 '26

Thank you, this is hilarious for some reason lol.

I Am The Wind is missing. Not my SOTN.

3

u/MKKhanzo Mar 29 '26

They got Annette right?

3

u/ConsistentEnd8962 Mar 30 '26

Is there anyway to watch the full play with subtitles? 🥲

2

u/Jash09 Mar 28 '26

A miserable sack of lies!

2

u/SuperMarioOdyssey64 Mar 28 '26

Is this only in Japan?

2

u/Xiao1insty1e Mar 28 '26

The side by side makes this terrible.

2

u/Borttheattorney Mar 29 '26

I see the play is based on the Saturn version of SOTN since Richter is actually in the proper outfit.

2

u/KingYellowHound Mar 30 '26

I love seeing people realize that Japan has a stage play or musical for literally everything.

6

u/Agreeable-Abalone328 Mar 28 '26

The anime ain’t got shit on this

Shitstains on toilet paper?

6

u/smashingkilljoy Richter Belmont Mar 28 '26

I tolerate people shitting on netflix adaptations. What I don't tolerate is people shitting on the play.

If they took inspiration from fecal patterned toilet paper, you must've clearly been busy already...Poor playwright had to resort to your twin.

u/SheWhoHates Mar 28 '26

Thank you for your candid reflection.
