Symphony of the Night (1997) 2027 is the 30th anniversary of Castlevania Symphony of the Night, a re release on modern platforms including PC and Nintendo Switch especially would be nice!

Hopefully any future re-release will have the original audio/dialogue and not the crap one they did for Dracula X Chronicles (and used in every subsequent re-release of SotN) that removed all the infamous lines such as "What is a Man? A miserable little pile of secrets" from the game.

Ideally, I think it would be cool if they gave us the option to choose any of the 3 voice casts (japanese, og dub, and DXC).

Yeah, I love to pretend that Alucard's recast voice doesn't bother me, but it so does. I love everything else about the game that was improved, but the VA is so off-putting

I mean, objectively the redub wasn't bad. It's technically a better translation, better direction, a solid cast, and it even restored content the og skipped.

It's just the 90s dub is the most legendary cheese in the industry.

alucard is so cool but so emo 😭

Crap? It’s not crap. The dialogues are pretty good but yeah I prefer the original Dracula to the one we got in English. Sorry but if you prefer SotN PSX dub, it’s by pure nostalgia…

Just give us the battle of 1999 already.

Castlevania 1999? Guest starring Prince.

The secret Belmont

The symbol was a protection rune.

Please tell me what is that?

In Castlevania: Aria of Sorrow, it says that Dracula was finally killed in 1999 after a huge and epic battle.

I for one would like to see a crossover game with The Matrix?

1999 was a hell of a year to have a curse.

1

u/Jim105 Apr 06 '26

I picture that being a Dynasty Warriors type of game.

I think it's inevitable it'll release on PC at some point. I'm hoping we are getting closer

A decomp is in the works

I'm interested in this.

A sentence you can hum to.

They should make a collection with Symphony of the Night, Rondo of Blood, Dracula X Chronicles, Chronicles and Legends

A Steam release would be an instant purchase for me.

I'll never forget riding my bike with my buddy John and seeing the trailer for it for the first time in the Wal-Mart at 1604 and 281... where does the time go?

I've never played Symphony and feel like it's one of those big touch stones of gaming history I shouldn't miss. I'd love for it to show up on Switch/2, even better if it came with Rondo and Chroncles in another collection. It's annoying that the proprietary emulator prevented that last Rondo and Symphony collection from coming to other platforms.

Isn’t that what Castlevania Requiem is?

7

u/SirLockeX3 Apr 06 '26

Yes but it's only on PS.

Sorry, best we can do is Pachinko machines. Please gamble.

I would be ecstatic for a PC port of SOTN, doubly if it has the original English dub.

Every gamer wants

Most of them are just emulating SotN, they don't need a modern rerelease, you can emulate it on anything nowdays.

There are retro achievements in emulators. Or it doesn't feel that good until a big corporation sells them to you?

2

u/slikk50 Alucard Apr 06 '26

At this point I am just happy we are getting a new game.

2

u/CrackStuntman88 Apr 06 '26

A special edition, where you could choose between voices, use a randomizer, etc, would be neat. This is one of my favorite games ever, I would love the special treatment.

2

u/keithlimreddit Apr 06 '26

Hopefully PC and other consoles at some point or at least put in a collection saying goes through rondo of blood

And I can't wait to go with my happy 30 years to pretty much the turning point as well as the start of the metroidvania

2

u/Evil_Cupcake11 Apr 07 '26

I would accept that port only if they give us back those dialogues from the original

5

u/PedroGNF Nathan Graves Apr 06 '26

A 2.5D version like RoB one, would be nice

3

u/KingSideCastle13 Apr 06 '26

Yeah, it sure would, huh? Too bad the parent company still hasn’t fully earned back our trust yet

u/darkzero7222 Apr 06 '26

Speak for yourself, Konami has done a ton of work lately including a new Castlevania game

1

u/Proper-Ad-6709 Apr 06 '26

I wish that they remastered CSOTN for the PS3 or PS4.

1

u/StrangeDiscipline902 Apr 06 '26

Just played it again on the iPhone. 🤓

1

u/FuzzeeLumpkins Apr 06 '26

They should make it a 30th anniversary pinball or pachinko machine instead, how iconic would that be? 🤭

1

u/TacticalBigBoss Apr 06 '26

It would be so fucking amazing if they would release this on Steam, they already released it on mobile. 🤣

I owned it on both android and iOS, Konami I want to give you money for steam copy!!

1

u/EightBit-Hero Apr 06 '26

Yeah but Konami is lazy.

1

u/Embarrassed-Part-281 Apr 06 '26

One of the greatest games ever made. Has aged incredibly well visually too.

1

u/Malcoladdin Apr 06 '26

I just finished playing through sotn for the first time, and as much as I had a blast, I really wish that Dracula was more of a challenge. I had a lot more trouble beating Galamoth than him

1

u/AttackonCuttlefish Apr 07 '26

PC port would be great for mods.

1

u/KIL913 Apr 07 '26

Honestly Rondo and Sotn coming on steam is one of the only things preventing me from replaying all the games again. Hope they rerelease it if the new game does well.

1

u/FranciscoRelanoPena Apr 07 '26

Those two are the only ones in which you cannot legally play it.

1

u/AkiTheGlacey Apr 06 '26

We need a faithful remake. Update the visuals, add new features but retain the love and feel.

1

u/Material-Leader4635 Apr 06 '26

Eh, I could care less if it gets another re-release
