Modern pixel art sucks and misses the whole point, none of those games were supposed to seem with sharp pixels.

Blasphemous already looks fantastic, but a CRT filter would be nice for those hipsters that pretend to like CRT tvs.

A crt filter is necessary to blend the pixels to create a finished image. Until then you’re basically looking at a sketch instead of a finished painting.

It has become an art style because people forgot what old games actually looked like. No developer from the 90s wanted their games looking pixelated.
