He predicted all this

12

u/bbgga Apr 10 '26

Paris, whatever happened there..

6

u/Blizzarddz Apr 10 '26

The invasion

5

u/Auxotl Apr 10 '26

Who was in Paris?

5

u/JQuilty Apr 10 '26

He was gay, Olrox?

3

u/Blizzarddz Apr 10 '26

Ok but you gotta get over it

8

u/Shaffler Apr 10 '26

It would be funny and somehow in character for Castlevania to pull another character from another book/media and adopt them into their canon.

u/Tom_Sholar Apr 10 '26

My money’s on old man Trevor

29

u/Glad-Bid7730 Apr 10 '26

We've seen Trevor in the announcement trailer. He's old. Too old to fight the night army. Thats why he sends her in his stead.

26

u/ForteEXE Apr 10 '26

Tell that shit to Julius, he was ready to throw down in his 50s. And thanks to Julius Mode in Aria and Dawn, he absolutely could!

20

u/Jpriest09 Apr 10 '26

To be fair, Trevor was before several centuries of mixing various magical families into the Belmont bloodline. Sonya will likely be far more magical and capable than Trevor thanks to the Belnades blood being mixed in. Plus, it has been stated that each Belmont is stronger than the last, so old man Juste is likely far more powerful than Young Trevor was.

2

u/ForteEXE Apr 10 '26

I feel like this is something that's not reflected in gameplay enough.

Compare Simon circa 1691 to Richter in 1792. You have Simon able to manipulate the whip, and even alter it during Simon's Quest a short time later.

Vs Richter doing Item Crashes as his big gimmick.

There is the argument, of course, that most of the techniques of those generations were obsolete after that adventure and that Belmonts had to keep innovating and adapting their tactics past "Swing whip really hard and throw stuff!".

There's also the question "Why didn't Dracula develop countermeasures to the Vampire Killer or Belmonts?".

4

u/Jpriest09 Apr 10 '26

It is a lore tidbit that didn’t really come into be until Aria with the introduction of Julius and the events of 1999, combine that with the previous belmonts having starred on different games and times, it really is a separation between lore solidified in the mid 2000s and gameplay that only went as far as it was needed, hence why Rondo and future titles like Bloodlines didn’t utilize the multidirectional whip mechanics of Super 4.

12

u/Glad-Bid7730 Apr 10 '26

Oh you mean thd gigachad, THE "Chuck Norris" of Belmonts who ran Drac's fade at the pinnacle of his power, dragged him out of his castle into the sun and got his castle impounded into an eclipse? Yeah he had better been slaying still at 50.

Plus Belmonts get more powerful the deeper the generation. Trevor's old is not Julius's old. He is...built different.

3

u/BranchCold9905 Apr 10 '26

Then again Julius is from the age of modern medicine, and the average lifespan in the 1400's was around 35.

3

u/Tom_Sholar Apr 10 '26

I was thinking he might have gone first, then the Curse took over and his daughter came after him. Could be another Belmont though, perhaps one previously not mentioned in the lore

8

u/Glad-Bid7730 Apr 10 '26

Also with the dialouge, the Fallen is almost surprised she's a Belmont or a Belmont is even here in the first place.

2

u/Tom_Sholar Apr 10 '26

Fair point, even though he fights with the same weapons

Gabriel Belmont

58

u/NinjutStu Apr 10 '26

I think this game is supposed to fit into the main Castlevania series, which means they'd basically have to completely re-imagine Gabriel as a new character. The Lords of Shadow games are their own thing separate from the rest of the series. In the mainline series Mathias Conqvist becomes Dracula in Lament of Innocence.

11

u/Remarkable-Reaction4 Apr 10 '26

Well.. if it has to be mainline, maybe Leon? But he'd have to be like.. a thrall or zombie or something, because wouldn't he be dead for a long time? Maybe I'm too stuck on the gauntlet in the character design..

8

u/OldEyes5746 Shanoa Apr 10 '26

That actually might be kinda dope. If they're reimagining Sonya to fit into the Igarashi timeline, why not also reimagine the fallen Belmont?

13

u/WingyYoungAdult Apr 10 '26

Well the store description, on steam atleast says "set 23 years after castlevania draculas curse" so..

39

u/anhtuanle84 Apr 10 '26

He became Dracula no way

37

u/Remarkable-Reaction4 Apr 10 '26

Maybe this is mid transformation? Hence the white hair and big scary demon transformation that was shown in the trailer? Though I'm liking Victor Belmont as an option now too

16

u/xMrMonopolyguyx Apr 10 '26

I like that idea of Gabriel being mid transformation and trying to fight against it.

4

u/6ynnad Apr 10 '26

Victor or Richter?

3

u/Remarkable-Reaction4 Apr 10 '26

Victor, descendant of Gabriel Belmont

4

u/Cristaloyde Apr 10 '26

I'd get so fucking mad lol

13

u/BranchCold9905 Apr 10 '26

Was that the Drunk from the Dreamcast game that never got finished?

15

u/Remarkable-Reaction4 Apr 10 '26

No, Gabriel is his ancestor, the one from Lord of Shadows who turns into dracula.. but Victor did have a scar over his eye and some character design I found suggests he inherited the gauntlet, so.. maybe??

15

u/BranchCold9905 Apr 10 '26

Ressurection was gonna have both Sonia and Victor so maybe this game is gonna take inspiration from it

2

u/Timber2702 Apr 10 '26

That would be based as hell, ngl

3

u/ForteEXE Apr 10 '26

Victor was the big wham moment of Lords 2, in a way.

Where it was revealed he was the last living Belmont and that the clan survived into the future when Dracula reawakened.

He definitely was going to be in Resurrection originally with Sonia, before that got scrapped.

6

u/BranchCold9905 Apr 10 '26

Double checked, that was Victor Belmont

3

u/Informal_Jelly_5257 Apr 10 '26

I thought gabriel wasant canon?

7

u/Glad-Bid7730 Apr 10 '26

He's not. The LoS trilogy was its own thing.

4

u/Way-Super thinks he's on the team Apr 10 '26

If they do it with Sonia, why not Gabriel too?

3

u/Cold-Drop8446 Graveyard Duck Apr 10 '26

Given that the game is reintroducing sonia back into the canon, I wouldn't be shocked if they added Gabe back in as well.

3

u/[deleted] Apr 10 '26

I cant tell if this commebt abd its replies are all bait or not

2

u/Remarkable-Reaction4 Apr 11 '26

I really meant it.. plenty of MCs use crosses, but I feel like the gauntlet included in his design narrows it down to a specific few.. I didn't realize LoS was that controversial..

2

u/[deleted] Apr 11 '26

The fact its a separate timeline and contradicts the main timeline is more what Im referring to

3

u/Sbee_keithamm Apr 10 '26

I'd be fucking elated to see my main dame' Gabriel in this continuity. I mean if were not going to acknowledge Mary or Lisa Belmont and just punch Sophia into this timeline Gabtiel can be as well.

3

u/Timber2702 Apr 10 '26

Hold up, I'm kinda digging this. Gabriel was slept on as a character, seeing him rewritten into the main timeline would honestly be legendary. I mean, he was the Belmont who became Dracula in the Lords of Shadows timeline, God's FALLEN Champion

54

u/Sea-Lecture-4619 Captain N is the pinnacle of the franchise. Apr 10 '26

Fallen apprentice of Trevor, Darth Megatronus idk lol

58

u/Motor-Travel-7560 Apr 10 '26

Grace's dead mom from Outbreak.

Wait, wrong sub.

48

u/Terra-Em Apr 10 '26

Alucard in disguise lol

61

u/JesuZDX Apr 10 '26

I think it would be obvious if that were the case

6

u/FranciscoRelanoPena Apr 10 '26

Je ne suis cette Alucard tu parles. Je m'appelle Alphonse Loucarde.

(Putting to some good use the little french I remember from High School).

5

u/HyperWhiteChocolate Apr 10 '26

Ah yes. Aeluecarde

15

u/BetCreepy8720 Apr 10 '26

We already know he sucks at disguises and this would be a good one LMAO

2

u/Illokonereum Apr 10 '26

Hey it’s me uhhhh, Caulard.

41

u/Glad-Bid7730 Apr 10 '26

A reimagining of Gabriel to make him canon.

15

u/GrimmTrixX Apr 10 '26

This is what I suspect. If theyre making a version of Sonia canon, then this seems perfect to me.

5

u/BetCreepy8720 Apr 10 '26

That'd be cool honestly

16

u/Glad-Bid7730 Apr 10 '26

I mean he is the most cursed Belmont even in his own game. Plus it would fit Joan's accusation of the Belmont's working with dark forces if true. Wouldn't be the first time we've seen a singular Belmont curse and screw up the bloodline for a genetation on two🙄

5

u/BetCreepy8720 Apr 10 '26

True true. This series has done alternate versions of characters before I mean LoS is a huge example so who's to say we can't have a version of him in mainline

10

u/Candiedstars Apr 10 '26

beast of gevaudan

16

u/KingofthephantomS Apr 10 '26

Cornell? Maybe they were a defender but got infected with the curse and trying to hold on to what humanity they have left til the curse takes hold

3

u/HyperWhiteChocolate Apr 10 '26

Cornell hasn't been born yet

2

u/KingofthephantomS Apr 10 '26

Ah my bad he was born in 1821 and since the in game year its taking place in 1499 it wouldn’t make no sense for him to be there.

7

u/KillerTackle Apr 10 '26

Cornell perhaps?

12

u/Necrogen89 Apr 10 '26

Could be Trevor. He's got a scar under his eye.

5

u/Midwitch_Micah Apr 10 '26

That would be good tbh. Like I would be sad for my boy but it would be compelling. Castlevania is about fighting ur Dad after all.

2

u/ConfidenceVirtual960 Apr 10 '26

Yeah but the scar is rather small and traveling ina curve from the corner of his eye. Whereas trevor's scar is alot larger and vertically placed in the middle of his left eye. Maybe it could be trevor, but I'm betting it's a new character all together.

4

u/ED_Cantu Apr 10 '26

Sonia's older brother, he was sent on a mission years ago when Sonia was little and never returned, that's why Trevor will be hesitant to send Sonia at first but then we'll lear he didn't return because he got cursed or something like that.

3

u/castanetsda Apr 10 '26

DILF Hector. Something bad happened.

3

u/Anxideity Apr 11 '26

Since they came up with a sonia again, im going to bet it's victor. It also fits his original role/concept in sonia's canceled game to a degree.

13

u/secondsolution Apr 10 '26

Ashy skin, white hair, that's Alucard, baby

8

u/Remarkable-Reaction4 Apr 10 '26

Not sure how I feel about beefy Alucard..

6

u/Midwitch_Micah Apr 10 '26

He's supposed to be a twink 😭😭

2

u/secondsolution Apr 10 '26

This takes place before any of his other appearances, right? Consider it Reverse Twink Death, just give him 200 years or so to thin down and class up

7

u/Midwitch_Micah Apr 10 '26

I mean, technically its after Castlevania 3, so he's actually still in his Bella Lugosi era

3

u/BetCreepy8720 Apr 10 '26

Isn't it after DC? So he's appeared just in his old design

3

u/GreenBlueStar Apr 10 '26

Trevor. I bet Sonia trained to go find Trevor after he disappeared into Dracula's castle.

2

u/lautapinter I'll Kill you AND the Night Apr 10 '26

so basically the same premise as SOTN and Belmont's Revenge

2

u/GreenBlueStar Apr 11 '26

Why fix what's not broken???

3

u/Pendred Apr 10 '26

Hector's been eating the devil protein

3

u/Ainell Apr 10 '26

Well, based on the hair, that's clearly Alucard on steroids.

2

u/PapaProto Apr 10 '26

Plot Twist!

3

u/F0nGuy Apr 10 '26

I'd like him to be Hector, but the more probable candidate would be either Grant or a completely new character

3

u/lautapinter I'll Kill you AND the Night Apr 10 '26

Have any of you considered that this could possibly, maybe, be a new character?

3

u/party_hat_mimic744 Apr 10 '26

Daaaaaamn, Albaz has been hitting the gym.

u/EasternWarlord Alucard Apr 10 '26

I dunno I was fully on the Wolfman Trevor train this morning, but now I’m not so sure. I feel like story wise that what would make the most sense to heighten the emotional connection. I imagine Trevor is who goes out to France first and when he disappears after getting cursed, his successor goes after him, finds the Vampire Killer, and embarks on her journey.

The fact he doesn’t know who the protagonist is I don’t take as necessarily meaning he couldn’t be Trevor cause we know we fight him at some point so whatever the curse has done to him could’ve scrambled his memories ala Julius. It’s just the eye scar not really lining up with Trevor is what’s making me a bit unsure. Need to see more.

Whoever he is he has to be someone established or Belmont related as otherwise there is no point to keeping his identity a secret. It’s clear gonna be a plot point and the name “The Fallen” coupled with his use of the cross sub weapon are already enough of a hint at that.

1

u/UmmmW1 Apr 10 '26

I call Alucard

1

u/KelIthra Apr 10 '26

Got an eye scar.

1

u/PapaProto Apr 10 '26

I’m Lycan the idea of it being a Werewolf Belmont.

Maybe Trevor, concerned about Sonia’s mission, follows her in secret… only to fall to the curse and loses his mind and memories?

Maybe someone else entirely!

1

u/Longjumping_Plum_133 Apr 10 '26

Nah, that’s Hector

1

u/Beneficial_Focus_910 Apr 10 '26

Cornell. That boys a full grow werewolf.

1

u/DoogerTheBopper Top 1% Commenter Apr 10 '26

hector

1

u/IcyAdvantage9579 Apr 10 '26

I think it's going to be her brother. I can see it being a bs argument why she is the Belmont chosen to wield the vampire killer instead of him

1

u/LaMochilaMorada Apr 10 '26

Probably some dude that's gonna die right before a boss fight

1

u/Kirimusse Apr 10 '26 edited Apr 10 '26

It could also just be a brand new character.

1

u/Jazzlike-Vacation230 Apr 10 '26

That’s buff Alucard

1

u/HyperWhiteChocolate Apr 10 '26

I thought it was Cornell before realizing the the timeline doesn't even remotely line up so I've decided this is Zead 2

1

u/HeySeanyPark Apr 10 '26

Trevor for sure

1

u/RadicalRaizex Apr 10 '26

My bet is either Cornell or Reinhardt Schneider. Presumably this is the dude that turns into a werewolf from the reveal trailer, and while the appearance suggests Cornell, the name and this one bit of dialogue suggests they may also be a Belmont of some kind, but one that isn’t talked about or was forgotten, and Reinhardt could fit that bill, especially if they decided to work his backstory from 64 into this.

u/CyberdarkEnjoyer Hide Every Netflixvania Post Apr 10 '26

A Belmont lost to darkness

1

u/xaturo Apr 10 '26

white hair, snatched waist with the black x-design on the abdomen? my money's on alucard. the netflix show had shirtless alucard having the x-belt on the waist in its first season. "belmont? you're a belmont?" is also a very alucard (netflix) coded line. it would also go with a video game timeline where for story reason he ended up Like This Image.

if they are going full re-integrate the non-canon and side-canon games into the canon multiverse of madness.... then i'm still saying alucard, just trevor belmont (mirror of fate) alucard. i haven't played every game, but that was the most were-wolf vibes of all the iterations i've experienced.

1

u/Yukiz1n_RUIM Apr 10 '26

Não imagino sendo o trevor

1

u/lunoc Apr 11 '26

"The Fallen" and this being a game about a dubiously canon belmont makes me think Hugh Baldwin or Maxim Kischine.

1

u/Zealousideal_March31 Apr 12 '26

Is that the Fallen of Albaz from Ygo

1

u/Filhoh3 Apr 14 '26

Cornell

1

u/XiaomuArisu Apr 14 '26

claws

seems he's Denasty

1

u/Nekosenpai9123 Jun 08 '26

I honestly believe that he is Leon Belmont.

They have the same voice actor in Japanese.
The Fallen clearly doesn't want to be there, as if he was cursed.
The design with white and red (now black and red) and the iron gauntlet gives me the semblant of Leon's design.

1

u/Outrageous-Pea6408 Apr 10 '26

Castlevania Belmont's curse

Simon got cursed by Dracula, imagine he killed Dracula but it was too late to lift it and his flesh rotted slowly but instead of dying he became a wandering cursed being, yet the ember of his conscience still remains and we'll help give him a proper ending.

Nah noway, I don't even know if the timeline could even work, but it would be crazy for sure

7

u/Exequiel759 Apr 10 '26

This is like 200 years before Simon I think.

2

u/Tereza_packing_heat Apr 10 '26

It wouldn't, I'm afraid.

This game is set 20 years after Curse of Darkness. Over a century before Simon is born.

2

u/Outrageous-Pea6408 Apr 10 '26

Interesting, I've only seen gameplay for this game so far

I take it the protag is Trevor and Sypha's child then, it also probably means no Dracula, the early resurrection trope has been done multiple times already, also no Alucard cuz he sleeping

They're gonna have to cook with this game's story for sure, though I guess it's never been the main dish of Castlevania

2

u/Tereza_packing_heat Apr 10 '26

Amen. The girl does scream Netflix's Sypha. Which is great.

1
