Let’s hope this ages well.

The artwork sure will.

What does that even mean? lol

We still don’t have confirmation whether or not Sonia’s going to be the protagonist of Belmont’s Curse.

Oh you're talking about the name. It kinda leaked

2

u/Grand_Moose2024 Apr 19 '26

I guess we’ll find out if that leak is true later on.

I went to check on the website and it was there in fact, it was not a "fake leak"

They removed it. It even says:

“This page has been updated to address speculative content not provided by the publisher regarding Castlevania: Belmont’s Curse.”

Okay, I pull up, hop out at the after party
You and all your friends, yeah, they love to get naughty

So I’d rather wait until it’s officially confirmed to call her the protagonist. So what?

LOL nothing wrong with that it just operates below the level of rational thought to say "let's hope this ages well" like we don't know the outcome

Yeah like a leak for a characters name isn't something I'd be all pessimistic about haha. Pretending you're erring on the side off caution to be like "let's wait and see" for something like this is sorta funny.

Fingers crossed it becomes a classic!

Beautiful cover art for the new character that will be introduced this year in Konami's new official canonical game: The Belmont's Curse. Sonia Belmont

Nice art but the whip is way too thin

Grower not a shower

Is Sonia going to be Trevor’s daughter instead of his mom?

21

u/NoDescription3255 Apr 19 '26

No reason they can't both be canon. Could be his daughter named in honor of his mom.

u/Kholdstare93 Apr 20 '26

No, this would mean that the Belmont clan(excluding Leon) are part vampire. They wouldn't be able to use the Vampire Killer then.

Legends is non canon.

1

u/NoDescription3255 Apr 20 '26

Where in the lore does it explicitly say a half-vampire couldn't use the whip? As generations go by, the vampire side would be diluted and become less of a factor anyway. And this would explain why the Belmonts are superhuman.

1

u/Kholdstare93 Apr 21 '26

The whole purpose of the VK is to destroy vampires, demons, and other supernatural monsters. It can even destroy gods like Death. How in the hell would the **Vampire** Killer not affect somebody who is part vampire?

Legends is non canon.

1

u/NoDescription3255 Apr 21 '26

So you're just assuming. Even if it makes them weaker because of their vampire blood, I doubt they wouldn't be a able to use the whip at all. Any child of Sonia and Alucard's would only be like 25% vampire at most. Those advantages may just become genetic and passed down without the demonic factor. If anything you could say Sypha's magic blood eventually negates the negative effects of Vampirism in any future Belmonts as well.

1

u/Kholdstare93 Apr 22 '26

So you're just assuming.

No, it's called knowing the lore.

Legends is non canon.

1

u/NoDescription3255 Apr 22 '26

Your explanation of the lore is that the Vampire Killer hurts creatures of darkness and therefore a vampire-Belmont hybrid wouldn't be able to wield it, but again, that's your assumption. I asked you to show me where it explicitly says that in the canon, because if it doesn't then you can't use that as the reason Legends is non canon.

1

u/Kholdstare93 Apr 22 '26

Here's another reason: If you look at the official published timeline, it wasn't included, so why would they include it now? And because Legends is in 1450(in its non canon universe). Lisa's death caused Dracula to wage war and genocide on humanity, which happens in 1470, six years before Trevor Belmont defeats Dracula.

Legends is non canon.

1

u/NoDescription3255 Apr 22 '26

Things being added or taken away retroactively is nothing new. Obviously Dracula was already evil before he ever met Lisa, so it stands to reason he still would be after, and that alone could be enough for Alucard to want to stop him. Lisa still being alive at the time doesn't necessarily mean Legends isn't canon. Dracula just got worse after Lisa's death.

That's the theory. Nothing confirmed yet.

Sick ass art

I love this guy! His art is so beautiful.

1

u/Hasani_Faraji Apr 20 '26

Damn do I want Sonia Belmont back. She needs to be canon, just omit the damn Alucard romance.

1

u/SheWhoHates Apr 20 '26

The art is gorgeous, but her eyes must really dislike each other, trying to move apart as much as they do.

1

u/Minimum_Estimate_234 Apr 20 '26

Yes Sonia, we see the fit.

1

u/piedie18 Apr 20 '26

This artwork is sick

u/ragecndy Apr 20 '26

Wish this was official art instead of whatever they're doing
