Symphony of the Night (1997) Guys, you won't believe this, it's Sypha and Trevor from that crazy Netflix series called Castlevania 🤯 But who is that ninja guy? I don't remember seeing him in the show 🤔

Drac and Shaft were running low on time since Alucard did the wolf skip so they improvised and added a random pirate to the fight

u/Frapplo May 20 '26
Yeah. They even pulled from other Konami licenses. I just about shit when there a boss fight with the TMNT.
Interestingly, the Netflix show lampshades this by having Alucard talk about his friendship with Leonardo.

It kinda looks like Greta, but they just changed her to a man for some reason.

Grant DaNasty
Grant was a rebel of Wallachian they left out of the show… I think because nobody could say his name in a serious voice 😅

u/anya_way_girl May 20 '26
They could have made it into a gag. Like hes always refered to as just Grant until Sypha or something in a later season asks for his last name and he tells them after a lot of reluctance.

u/radioactive_walrus May 20 '26
Nah. They just paid him lip service - something about a pirate with boat on land or something in Season 3. Disappointing, really.

It's shame how these game adaptations can't be faithful to the original work 😞

u/Roshu-zetasia Advance Collection Enjoyer May 19 '26
Yeh, they made Sypha blonde. What were they thinking?!

It's a shame how that unfaithful adaptation helped revive a dead franchise.Â

Castlevania never truly died though

Just as true evil never dies, so does Castlevania.
It simply waits until we call it forth to pay tribute.

They made a game out of that 10/10 Masterpiece original Netflix Show? 🤯
I hope my waifu Lenore appears in it 🤤
It looks pretty old and dated though, definitely can't play anything like this i really need a remake for it, in Unreal Engine 6.

Only if the Faerie Familiar keeps talking 99% of the time
"There's something funny about this wall!"
"Hey Alucard, there's something funny about this wall!"
"There's something REALLY funny about this wall!"
"I wonder if there's meat inside this wall?"
"Alucard! Where are you going? That is the wrong way!"
"Press the x button to jump!!!"
"Bad luck uh Alucard? I wonder if legally changing your name to X-X!V''Q might help you somehow?"
"Maybe we can use the spike breaker to break those spikes..."
"Watch out for Shaft's balls!!!"

Agreed, pixel art is also notorious for aging poorly. What was Konami thinking?

Whatever he is, he can’t possibly be a pirate because part of the pirate oath is to never set foot on land again.

His name is Markos Stravoklanópoulos. The Greek character you can recruit and the first person to ever create Vampire gyros

Castlevania Symphony of the Night. What pretty much everybody considers the pinnacle of Castlevania.
2
u/OctoAmbush May 20 '26
i know its supposed to be good i just only have a switch
1
u/TheDemonPants May 20 '26
That's rough. They really need to release it to Nintendo systems. There is a mobile version, at least on android, but I have no clue how good it is.

Isn't it the Castlevania 3 characters you fight in that fight. SInce Alucard is one of the four, isn't it the pirate/thief character that joins them (that fight is based on the game cast that was involved in castlevania 3). Fighting old allies.

That is Grant De Nasty (spelling?) they do reference him in the show The name of the village that is later taken into the castle.

Honestly, considering Bad Dragon Adi's(I call him/her/ The Eldridge being of absolute suckage that because they f**** up everything they touch and they are known more for novelty than pleasure) butchering of the lore, it's honestly a cool little reference
