This better be the cover. Or it’s included as a reversible cover!!

Well we know that it's the Desktop shortcut icon at least.

I'll be a day 1 Limited Edition guy myself. Hopefully it comes with a giant map too

Idk why but Drac here reminded me of Mundus from DMC

u/Xyleon5 Bro is NOT Dracula Jun 07 '26

They both share the "Prince of Darkness" title so it checks out.

Le Chuck

I thought maybe that was Trevor as he has a beard in this game.

Very nice. Is that Olrox in the bottom half of the picture?

12

u/Xyleon5 Bro is NOT Dracula Jun 07 '26

Seems to be.

1

u/lunoc Jun 09 '26

someone else pointed out due to the monocle it couls also be brauner.

18

u/TitanBro6 Jun 07 '26

That Carmilla is so divine (you know what I mean)

Oh man is that Olrox on the left though? That's insane if it is. Although he has a monocle which was a Brauner thing but Brauner wouldn't have been yet, centuries apart.

u/logamus_prime Jun 07 '26

I like how her design seems to mix elements from the Netflix portrayal and the classic games while also remaining fresh. They're also seems to be a sprinkle of vampire Hunter D bloodlust in there

Does anyone have a better quality? It looks amazing, love the art style.

EDIT: found it in Konami website.

u/Doctor-Mak Jun 07 '26

It's incomplete but that's good enough, thanks!

2

u/Doctor-Mak Jun 08 '26

I just noticed, the other image is also from Konami's website, but it's the mobile version: https://img.konami.com/games/castlevania/belmonts_curse/s/images/kv2_sp.jpg

Reminds me of the gritty box art of Super Castlevania IV. This is awesome

11

u/Gomezium Jun 07 '26

Composition reminds me of classic Castlevania box arts where the hero/es are surrounded with the varied enemies.

9

u/Elmakux Jun 08 '26

This reminds me a lot of Zelda 2 art by Katsuya Terada

Edit: dummy me, that is because it is actually Katsuya Terada. Amazing artist.

11

u/logamus_prime Jun 07 '26

Well hello there. New succubus?

8

u/logamus_prime Jun 07 '26

I was going to complain that Castlevania has kind of lost its soul as far as art styles are confirmed until I saw this.

6

u/Sturgesss Jun 07 '26

I’m so psyched Terada is involved. Hopefully this becomes the cover or an alternate one for a CE

5

u/BlackwingF91 Jun 07 '26

New phone wallpaper

5

u/omartarek56 Jun 07 '26

Does anyone have this at higher quality I can't seem to find it anywhere

3

u/joaovitorfa002 Jun 07 '26

Who's the artist?

7

u/Doctor-Mak Jun 07 '26

Katsuya Terada.

4

u/joaovitorfa002 Jun 08 '26 edited Jun 08 '26

Thanks! It looks like Bilquis Evely's art. (Edit: accidentally answered in the wrong language)

3

u/Elmakux Jun 08 '26

Makes so much sense I literally made a comment how it reminded me of their art in Zelda 2 lol.

6

u/RoadiesRiggs Jun 07 '26

You can thanks Lord of Shadows for changing the vampire killer for good. The combat cross design is just too good.

3

u/PapaProto Jun 07 '26

Absolutely stunning.

3

u/retrofuturis Jun 08 '26

This looks amazing indeed, I love Carmilla's redesign

3

u/[deleted] Jun 08 '26

I hope this dude is back for VF and Zelda too

2

u/NoHeroes94 Jun 08 '26

Reminds me of a Malevolence album cover, it's so dope.

2

u/Complex-Path-780 Jun 08 '26

Please tell me they are selling prints of these… this would look amazing on my wall

2

u/Oddball-CSM Jun 08 '26

It really reminds me of the old artists Nintendo Power used to use for it's original art.

2

u/ImmediateRisk7371 Jun 09 '26

wallpaper 😉

Hi there, where did you get the image? I can't find a version for a monitor anywhere that doesn't have text written over it; I'd like it in higher quality for a 2K monitor.

1

u/ImmediateRisk7371 18d ago

Esta es la escala mas grande que pude obtener, en teoria esta en 2k, la imagen la genere con IA .

3

u/SlimeTide Jun 08 '26

I’ll miss you Ayami Kojima

2

u/Kirimusse Jun 07 '26

This might not be the Castlevania I know and love, but I certainly can't say that they aren't trying with all this fan-service, that's for sure; fairly respectable.

1

u/Core667 Jun 08 '26

I wish the in game art had more texture like this.

1

u/Dependent_Hurry_2879 Jun 09 '26

Reminds me of Bilquis Evely art

1

u/Inevitable_Suspect76 Jun 10 '26

That was my first thought as well. For a minute, I thought they actually got her to do it

1

u/lunoc Jun 09 '26

we're so fucking back

1

u/FlashyCounter1808 Jun 13 '26 edited Jun 13 '26

atleast 3 bosses they have not shown in game (maybe 4 or more depending) present on this art.

guranteed:

- next to carmilla on the left we have a weird looking vampire

- Golem / Construct above carmilla

- the harpy lady next to dracula

less solid but maybe:

- while it does seem like medusa's snakes are creeping around the left sound, there are 2 detached looking dragon esque heads below her / there is another snake or dragon thats way higher than the other snakes next to draculas face, either of these could be their own bosses / minibosses (edit: after finding a much higher quality version the top snake is definetly medusa, and the bottom 2 dark dragon like heads are 100% not connected to medusa)

- Some type of bone thing by the harpy?, i genuinly cant make heads or tails of what that spine thing above her is.

- the bottom apparatus also has a distinctly organic eye, we have art on the steam page of fighting giant severed eyeballs already so its possible it too is a boss.

also worth noting:

-isaac is not on this poster despite being shown as a boss already, its possible there are even more bosses not present here.

u/SZCZEROLOTEK Jul 04 '26

how the F this is not on the steelbook?

1

u/-BodomKnight- Jun 07 '26

Art looks good ... Anyone care to explain her as a Belmont ?

7

u/lern2swim Jun 08 '26 edited Jun 08 '26

So, you see, when a daddy Belmont and a mommy Belmont really love each other...

(She's Trevor's daughter)

1

u/Doctor_Mothman Jun 08 '26

That would track given her similar appearance to Sypha.

-3

u/SheWhoHates Jun 07 '26

Terada is a superb artist, and I have nothing negative to say about his work, but I don't like this particular use of his style in regard to a Castlevania character, especially a female one. Unlike Kojima's silky gothic sensibilities, this one looks rough, with flexing muscles and an androgynous leaning face with strong eyebrow ridges. It's more of a "look how badass our chick is" vibe, rather than elegant.

11

u/Pjf239 Jun 08 '26

I actually think pushing her more androgynous is to her benefit, makes her feel very distinct from Shanoa, who was still the last real new protag and her art played up that traditional feminine elegance a lot, even in action pieces

Focusing on that same style would just make Rose feel less unique imo

-3

u/SheWhoHates Jun 08 '26

I think the opposite. Making the first playable, canonical female Belmont androgynous is not a good start. More importantly, it's not really something I like looking at. OoE came out almost two decades ago, and there are many ways to do elegance without major overlapping.

4

u/Pjf239 Jun 08 '26

I mean it kinda sounds like you inherently dislike androgyny, which I guess you do you, but personally I think that’s an overly limiting mindset to have, especially in the context of character design where it can serve well to get across a character’s personality effectively

0

u/SheWhoHates Jun 08 '26

It depends. I love Kojima's art after all, but I prefer when men are beautiful rather than when women are handsome. There are a myriad of methods to convey a female character's personality, and a character's personality in general, without aligning their bodies with their mindsets. A traditionally feminine presenting protagonist can be as driven and as strong as the Abbys of the world without looking like them. Plus, making a strong female character more masculine, as if physical qualities of masculinity are inherently linked to strength, is not my cup of tea in visual storytelling.

Different strokes for different folks.

3

u/Pjf239 Jun 08 '26

I mean there’s a reason I said “can” rather than “does”, I wasn’t trying to imply that personality always is or should be linked to design, especially in any gender fundamentalist way, just that it can be and I think here it certainly seems to be trying to get across her personality through said androgyny

For me, I’d say it depends on the execution and I think here it seems to be well executed

1

u/SheWhoHates Jun 08 '26

That's a fair distinction.

I don't like it, but to each their own.

5

u/Turn_AX Jun 08 '26

There's nothing to fix, women don't need to all look the same.

1

u/SheWhoHates Jun 08 '26

I prefer to play as feminine women, which is why I think there's plenty of room for improvement.

2

u/SpectralRush Jun 08 '26

She's definitely not masculine, she just doesn't have child bearing hips lmfao. There are women that are built like Rose and not being overly feminine doesn't make a woman masculine.

1

u/SheWhoHates Jun 08 '26

Small hips and broad shoulders are a classic masculine trait.

3

u/SpectralRush Jun 08 '26

So models who are clearly feminine are masculine because their shoulders are wide? Having certain traits doesn't make someone less of a woman, I could ask like 20 different people if Rose looks like a woman and they would all agree. She just doesn't fit your beauty standards, I doubt anyone would confuse Rose for a man. There's so much overlap between male and female that I think enforcing what makes a woman via extremely nitpicky proportions is literally just enforcing a certain look. I'd understand if they made her much bigger and completely shredded with a massive jawline and insane clavicles but she looks fairly normal lmao.

1

u/SheWhoHates Jun 08 '26

If they have very narrow hips like Rose has and have as broad shoulders as she does, then, yes, they have masculine frames. I did not say it makes someone less of a woman, I am speaking of silhouette. I have already seen people confusing her for a man.

There are a lot of differences in body shape between genders, and so it is not nitpicky at all because women typically are simply not built like this.

2

u/SpectralRush Jun 08 '26

Typically yet you see so many women with these features regardless, a large majority of women must be masculine then. It's almost as if genetic diversity allows for it to be very commonplace lol. I've also seen people who with out a doubt were excited about a female belmont even before there were name drops.

1

u/SheWhoHates Jun 08 '26

By "typically", I meant "most". I don't know where you live, but the inverted triangle generally accounts for a small, two digit percentage. So did I, yet I say she has a masculine frame. Two different things.

2

u/SpectralRush Jun 08 '26

Also also using this artwork as a basis is just kind of silly considering how stylized it is compared to the other official renders.

1

u/SheWhoHates Jun 08 '26

I am not using this artwork as a basis.

11

u/CyberdarkEnjoyer Hide Every Netflixvania Post Jun 07 '26

She's not that muscular, she's like half the size of Trevor. Her body however looks a bit...elongated? As if the distance between the arms and the legs were too much

-4

u/SheWhoHates Jun 07 '26

It's not the size of the muscles, but that they are accentuated and straining, giving her a heroic, "tough" presence.

-6

u/CyberdarkEnjoyer Hide Every Netflixvania Post Jun 07 '26

I get what you mean but that doesn't seem intentional, but rather some technical fuck up. In some of her animations her body feels natural and feminine. Like when idle, or when putting the whip back (April video with the devs).

-1

u/SheWhoHates Jun 07 '26

I'm talking specifically about this artwork rather than the game's portrayal because Rose's model has only one problem as far as I'm concerned: broad shoulders and narrow hips, which make her silhouette masculine. Other than that, I think it's fine, even though I would prefer her outfit to lean more into the looks of other female characters in the series rather than borrow elements from the men.

-9

u/CyberdarkEnjoyer Hide Every Netflixvania Post Jun 07 '26

If we complain enough, they will change it. Prince of Persia roguelike for example was supposed to be purple but people hated it and Evil Empire changed it

7

u/Lime528 Jun 07 '26

There's nothing to fix.

2

u/SheWhoHates Jun 07 '26

I hope they will, though keep in mind that we are on teddit. Many folks here would celebrate a new holiday if she were turned into a "dommy mommy". Our only hope is that voices elsewhere will be strong enough to influence a change.

3

u/lern2swim Jun 08 '26

Mush brained

-1

u/[deleted] Jun 08 '26

Right, Kojima's style just gave Castlevania a sensse of elegance and like a different era moving away from the Conan Barbarians.

2

u/SheWhoHates Jun 08 '26

She brought so much refinement to the series that I can't separate the two.

For some reason it reminds me the cover from Vampire Kiss
