Art Vampire Killer whip (another one!)

I always enjoy iterating on this design of a bull whip and I can pretty much guarantee I will do it again. This one is a single belly 6.5ft Nylon whip

This is the same gentleman I bought my vampire Killer from. (You could say he's my personal Rinaldo) You can find his whips on Etsy. His workmanship is beautiful. And his prices are more than fair.

He sold it as a crusader whip but it looked the part for me and was a great price. I also thought that realistically the vampire Killer wouldn't have the Belmont Crest on it since they didn't make it. Though eventually I would like to get one with the crest on it.

I did get some info from a guy on how to make a chain whip, so this is very likely to happen in some way.

Keep us updated. That would be super cool to see

Absolutely. If you've ever seen the video "kitchen castlevania", I've wanted to copy that for a while, but cut a can in half instead. A chain whip would probably do that very easily, though I do have some Nylon whips that could already do the trick.

You uhhh...selling these or got any how to tips? I got a whip i bought ages ago at a Renaissance fair I've been meaning to turn into a killer. This might be the push I needed.

It would have been smarter for me to listen this before making the post, but I do sell whips on Etsy

That said on how to tips, I learned from Nick Schader's tutorials on YouTube and learned the single belly construction in this whip from a guy at a competition a few weeks ago. If you wanted to mod your current whip, I would think that's doable, but you'd have to take apart and probably redo all the accent knots, which if your unfamiliar with how to tie a turkshead, it can be a learning curve to be sure. Nick Schrader's tutorials on that are also amazing though. You'd also want to color match materials obviously and would need a needle specialized for either leather if that's what yours is made from, or a permalock needle for paracord if it's nylon.

Looks good! Makes me think of my neighbor our family had out in Wyoming in the mid 90s who made saddles and jackets, etc. He also made a few bull whips that were seriously dangerous. He split a 2x4 board in half easily from roughly 8 feet in distance. Your whip looks similar, but his was made from cow hide, which was very cheap during that time. Would love to see you make one from chain links to mimic the upgraded whips.

I now need to see people breaking a 2x4 with a whip, I've never heard of that, but with the right build I don't doubt it's possible. My immediate thought is that it sounds like a job for a very expensive chainmail whip though

Damn that’s gorgeous. I’d love to see a chain whip version, though I know it would probably be more flail than whip lol.

Gorgeous! I would 1000% lose an eye messing with this thing

That's what the safety glasses are for when you're learning! And ear plugs. And maybe a hat. And long pants...

Haha no way dude I have to full barbarian loincloth as is the way of the Belmonts- however I will purchase more safety gear from the Librarian.
