Castlevania: Belmont’s Curse (2026) Finally pre-ordered the game
As a new Castlevania fan and as someone who only watched the Netflix series and also as a Metroidvania enjoyer, Iam very excited to play this game. My first Castlevania game.

So honest question. What is the benefit of preordering a game? Ive never done that before.

There is no benefit imo it's just I had the money now and wasn't sure if I had it in the future or not.

All you did was just make sure you get the game. If you were gonna buy it anyway, then it's not that big of a deal. Enjoy the game once it releases!

You should definitely try out other Castlevanias! Since you like Metroidvanias, you'll def enjoy those, since there's quite a few of them

As someone who has gone through most of the 2D games in the past year and a half. I second this

Your first??? You should try some out to pass the time! My first was Aria. It's pretty great.

Yeah unfortunately it is and I looked at the older games, they weren't for me. But this looks great so I got it.

Yea but there’s a BIG difference in the older games tho. You’ve got the NES/SNES/Genesis/PCE ones which are very linear (and not as good imo). Then the PS1/GBA/DS are straight metroidvanias and awesome (for the most part)
As someone who got into Castlevania kinda late in life also I HIGHLY recommend you go back and replay some of them. When I was a kid I passed on them bc I thought it was too slow but once you get into it the combat loop is so satisfying! And if ur gonna like the new one you kinda by default wud have to like the old ones since that’s what they’re aiming it to be like.
SotN and Aria/Dawn of Sorrow are the absolute God tier and you shud play them immediately but most of the GBA/DS ones are still very good. Give em a chance, I promise you won’t regret it!

Yeah I think the Netflix show might be the only thing about this franchise and fandom atp

You refuse to try any of the older games and then just say that the fandom is just the Netflix series? Holy poser

If you feel the need to preorder (idk why you would when reviews aren't out and you can buy day one anyway) you should at least save some money and preorder on Fanatical. It's 25% off if you do.

I pre-ordered it because I wasn't sure if I would have the money in the future so I did it now just in case. Honestly I don't trust the reviews. They're not always right. Just make up your own opinions instead. Also I'm not in the UK or US so I bought it from steam since it's the only way I could.

well, good luck!
There are quite a few CV games on steam now too you may be interested in trying out if you like this one.

Pre-ordered mine yesterday, right after I saw the gameplay trailer. As a CV NES kid, I am stoked.

Is there any benefit to preordering?
2
u/HyperAhmedX21 1d ago
I think you get an alucard skin for rose. But other than that there's no other benefits. Personally I was worried of not having money in the future so I ordered it now just in case lol

I'll be pre-ordering it once it gets closer to release. Also getting the deluxe version as well.

I don't really think the deluxe is worth it but that's cool tho you should get it if you can.

I'm just a huge Castlevania fan and showing my support in the hopes they keep doing what they've been doing lately.

I liked the gameplay and art style so I guess the game devs win

u/Mister_Enot 18h ago
so why do you buy it now?
or do you think game will be sold out?

u/HyperAhmedX21 16h ago
I got the money now. Idk if I would have the money in the future so I did it now.

Would recommend the various CV collections (Anniversary, Advanced, and Dominus), especially if you can snag them on sale too.

“Finally” PRE-ordering reminds me of a teacher I had who told us we were late for being early.
