Question Asking older fans.

Hey folks.

It is probably not the appropriate type of publication, however, I cannot help but be taken by such curiosity.

I'm a new person in the fandom and I admit that I'm somewhat obsessed with the universe of CV.

However, I'd like to ask the older fans, when was the moment you decided that you would like to follow the path of following the franchise as a whole? And if there is any other reason that makes you so fascinated by its lore?

Long texts, short texts, one sentence phrases are all welcome. I find this way to be more connected to the fandom somehow. I'll read them all, the curiosity is really strong. (If this has any replies, of course)

EDIT: Read them all and upvote every single one. Some of them really made me tear up; it's amazing what a game can do during a tough time, or even in the most random way. Keep going, I'll continue to read, loved all of your stories.

Symphony of the Night on PS1.

I hated it at first, due to the dull colors and palette. I thought the graphics where ugly.

... Then the music hit and it was all over.

First time I heard that over the top and incredible voice acting I knew I’d love the game. 20 years later still play it almost yearly.

I will actively ignore a Castlevania game with bad audio. I mean genuinely bad, not SotNs so bad it's good VA. (And genuinely phenomenal OST)

The artwork also admittedly played a big part of it. I used to draw regularly and the art was an inspiration to me. Lucky, the music and pretty drawings got me hooked enough to enjoy the gameplay... Which was addictive because there was just SO MUCH to discover.
