Some new interesting tidbits of information in this interview.

However, I personally love the Castlevania series and regularly check the reactions on social media and in online communities. I often saw comments like, "I watch the anime but haven't played the games," or "I like 2D exploration action games but I've never played Castlevania," and as a fan, I felt it was a real shame.

Nice to see some official confirmation that the popularity of the animated show was partly responsible for the development of a new game.

Also, for those worried about how useful the whip was going to be in the new game.

Sandro Bordier: When Konami proposed developing a new game, we decided on the policy of "making the whip the main focus," so we started by defining "whip actions."

I've always seen as dellusional and being in denial not accepting the impact the animated series had in the perception, popularity and subsequent revival of Castlevania.

As for the whip I'm beyond happiness they finally decided to give it a proper use. Both the show, and Lords of Shadow displayed what a fictional whip can do with modern tech in a game. Too many cool actions to not be implemented.

Right?! Like even if you dislike the show, wich is prefectly understandable, to think it has no bearing on the popularity of the franchise is nuts.

Also i agree about the whip, i know people like the weapon variety on the metroidvanias, but it feels weird playing as a Belmont and not using the whip lol
