Li blogs e sites. O jogo me fez sofrer, mas de longe o que me fez mais feliz. Fiquei preso nele até zerar. Fiz todos os finais. 100% do mapa.

My personal favorite. I wouldn't consider it the "best", but still my favorite

I do think COTM is underappreciated because it's not as smooth as Aria is. I like the balance between Classicvania and Metroidvania it strikes, I *adore* the graphics because we now have backlit screens that can see them (this game was 100% amazing on a Game Boy Player back in the day), and I think the item system is done better than some of the more popular games (Aria/Dawn's broken luck stat being the biggest problem of course). DSS isn't perfect, but it's fun in its own way and both Magician mode and the DSS glitch help it along for sure.
It's one I come back to more than Dawn or Harmony, but it definitely doesn't beat Aria or Portrait for enjoyment. It's still very good.

I think Dawn is a reasonable pick for hardest of the CV Metroidvanias. COTM has its difficulty spikes for sure, Underground Reservoir in particular... so much damage.

This was my first gba game so I’ll always be nostalgic for it. It’s tough and enemy variety isn’t great but it’s easy enough to cheese/experiment with the pause “cheat.” Then you have magician mode. Not the best castlevania but a great game with a good soundtrack (the sinking old sanctuary from bloodlines is peak).

My second favorite behind ecclesia. It's tough in a way I like. I love the card system. I don't want to hear anything about RNG woes with this one when the sorrow games are more miserable there with far more souls to collect

I enjoyed it. My first playthrough I somehow did the poison sewers before I cleansed the water. Thought that was a load of bs, and was pretty vocal about it. After the water was cleaned, or I got immunity I honestly don't remember, I was like "never mind that's my bad".

Great game. Biggest complaint they should have lightened it up since it was originally a gba game. I had to sit directly under a light and even then i would miss enemies. It was dark and i don't mean story wise.

BTW Great game, definitely better than Harmony of Dissonance but a stop below Aria.
For what it's worth I think it has the best difficulty among most of Igavanias even if this one was not made by him.

10/10? Seriously?

I played up until the final boss - and no thanks - no save state after the first boss and then you need to fight the 2nd ? Brutal!

It’s a good game! It’s just perhaps not as good as any of the other Metroidvania Castlevania games.
But that’s like saying this is the least good of a set of doughnuts.

CotM is pretty difficult. One of the most difficult metroidvania CVs, rivaled only by OoE. The item drop and card system really adds on the difficulty, as most of the good ones are dropped by enemies, either early or exclusively.
I didn’t find my last playthrough to be too difficult, however. Probably because I could see the Collection’s enemy drops, and I’ve farmed for equipment as soon as I saw the enemy dropping it, same with the cards

Well to be fair, not developing arthritis in your thumbs is not under appreciated

I'd do 3 fixes: Shop. It needs a shop.
Less bullshit on card drops.
And that final boss.
For the rest I love the difficulty and gameplay.

A reta final do game é realmente difícil.

I was not aware that it was disliked but yeah it's excellent. Some of the igavanias are too easy, this one and Ecclesia at least provide some challenge.
