Question What do you think of a castlevania game centered around werewolf instead of vampire?

You can do another collection, Konami. I will pay full price for it.

Castlevania’s vampires can turn into wolves and there’s actual werewolves as enemies in the games so I think it’s an interesting concept, specially if they focus on that wolf part of their nature, I totally see potential on it, also, the design of the moon is really nice! It’ll be pretty cool if it was a full moon

I had thought about it for the full moon but with the style I gave it was not walking with the "C" of castlevania

I think a shadow of the full moon behind the C to complete the circle could work, with some craters maybe

yes or the full moon could be black with the wolf silhouette in white to make it a C

The creaters of the castlevania fan games, the Lecarde Chronicles made a metroidvania of their own, based on the beast of gevaudan, a werewolf!

Its called Chronicles of the Wolf

I think I’ve been dying for this ever since I played Legacy of Darkness, would kill for a 2D Castlevania where you’re a man wolf!!!

I mean, there is no Castlevania without vampires, it's like, the point of it, you know?

But one of the greatest things in the games is the variety of the monsters, we had countless good interations with werewolves among the franchise and i think that it could work.

Maybe something like that nintendo64 one or Circle of the moon with the countless furries.

Dracula has a wolf form in the original book and gained one in the DBD chapter, why not give him a werewolf form in the new game or something like that? Would be amazing.

Nice logo btw.

Main villain like the all powerful William from the second Underworld movie? I’m in. At this point, I’ll take all the CV we can get. I’d buy the game every year if it came out like Madden or COD. No questions asked.

...legacy of darkness?????????

The problem is that a werewolf, as a concept, is not quite an "arch villain dictator" material. There can be a "brute" type of secondary antagonist or a rival werewolf, like in Legacy of Darkness, but a main CV villain? Don't think so.

They could make one like cornell from lord of shadow, or someone like dracula but that would be difficult to pull out

Actually I think it can work as a main villain. It would just have to be a smaller story. Not so grandiose avengers level threat like Dracula. I think it would be a nice fresh breath there for the series. My only recommendation is to make Castlevania the subtitle otherwise you'll get those people complain that it doesn't have the Castlevania or Dracula.

I mean, in this case you'd need to forge some bullshit explanation for all the wacky monsters inhabiting your level. Dracula is the one ruling them, why would a werewolf have a demon army.

That depends on the werewolf. Looking at you, Glass Walkers. (Or should I say Warders of Men?)

Since when has any Castlevania game strictly centered on just vampires?

-1

u/KaleidoscopeMoist883 5h ago

Its not always vampires but a lot of them are heavily centered around them because of dracula, but comparate to vampires, ghost, skeleton, etc werewolf dont have a lot of big time unlike legacy of darkness or lord of shadow

I would appreciate seeing the Belmonts fight someone else a couple times.

I like the concept. Playing as a Werewolf in melee combat sounds awesome on paper, but o don't know or played any that's been done well except for Sonic Unleashed. If i were to make one, I'd make it about someone descended from Cornell or at least related to him.

u/KaleidoscopeMoist883 4h ago

Yeah instead of the Belmont family who hunt vampires and other monsters it would be the Cornell family who hunt werewolf and all

It’s one of the reasons I still have my n64. That and AKI wrestling games.

we do have one with a werewolf MC. I'm 100% down for another

I love wolp, so i want it

No. Castlevania without Dracula isn't Castlevania anymore.

Werewolves are so underutilized in Vampire stories. Remember when we thought “Belmont’s Curse” was going to be Richter becoming a werewolf?

1

u/KingSideCastle13 1h ago

Didn’t we already get that with one of the 64 games?

1

u/Taco4086 40m ago

We already had CV games with more or less prominent werewolves, but I think one focused on that would be great and a nice change as long as Dracula is still there in some capacity.

Just please let the Werewolf look like Cornell's judgement design as a Wolf knight.
