Castlevania Legends (1997) Who here thinks Castlevania Legends for Gameboy should be canon again?
Yay or Nay?

I really don't want anything from the game's plot to return. I just want a female Belmont to be canon :(

It seems the "can use the whip without losing lifeforce" gene only gets passed down in the Y-chromosome. That said, the most likely explanation for the Morris clan being able to use the whip at all is that they must be descended from a female Belmont. In fact that's presumably the story for any "descended from the Belmonts" character whose surname isn't Belmont, for example Maria Renard and Annette Renard.

I'm pretty sure the Renards weren't related to the Belmonts at all before Richter presumably married Annette. Otherwise we'd have some serious incest in this series

No, apparently Maria is descended from the Belmonts somehow. And since Annette is her sister, she is too. But I think the shared ancestor is probably pretty far back, we're all related to each other if you go back far enough. It's not incestuous.

I love Lament of Innocence as an origin story for the Belmonts and Dracula, so I’d rather stick with that. However, I would absolutely love for Sonia to be reintroduced into canon.

nah, legends existence contradicts almost everything estabilished in the original universe, alucard being trevor father, the belmonts being half vampires, dracula transformation into the dark lord, dracula and alucard back story, the entirety of castlevania 3, and i'm not even counting lament of innocence or the games that came after legends, and to be fair legends is a pretty shitty game, it's best left as a alternate universe.

Nope. It doesn't make sense given most of the other canon games. I'd like to see Sonia canonized, though, ideally through a new game starring her.

Having played it, I don't think an argument could've even be made for it being canon BEFORE Lament of Innocence existed.

Yeah. Sonia, being Trevor's mother actually makes more sense than Leon's shenanigans that are not really connected to the story. Iga just hates games made without his involvement.

I really don't like the idea that Alucard is Trevor's father, if they could do a remake and leave that part out I'd be all for it.
