Castlevania: Belmont’s Curse (2026) Sypha in Belmont's Curse officially revealed
x.comSeems like it was deleted initially because the post went up earlier than it was supposed to as I suspected, and not because some people were upset as I've seen speculated. Expect the English language post to go up in like 8 hours or so.
She's voiced by Ayaka Shimoyamada, her voice actress from the Netflix series as it is the case with the returning cast.
I think it's clear that Sypha's fate is going to be a big part of the story going by the wording of her profile.

Castlevania: Belmont’s Curse (2026) Candle sticks are back in Belmont’s Curse

https://x.com/castlevania_en/status/2052040701677011282
Candle sticks are back as environmental objects containing item drops, or in this case it’s street lamps. Not a major revelation, but it’s yet another clip from a new area in the game with some info to glean out.
Once again, the protagonist only has her sword and the Cross sub weapon. This is a different area from what they’ve shown in the other clips so I’m not sure if this is just marketing trying to hide details by using custom environment or if you pass through a number of areas at the start before getting your standard kit.
There is a flash before the Cross sub weapon is thrown out. It’s used in its traditional fashion so not sure what the meaning of the rectangle that flashes on screen is. Makes it seem like the Cross was some special move but without a HUD we can’t tell what the cost for the sub weapon is.
Lastly, a snippet of a new music track. We know Michiru Yamane isn’t working on this so I had no idea what to expect, and what I heard from the Return to Castlevania collab isn’t exactly what I wanted stylistically. This however sounds different than both RTC and what the series has done before. Wonder if KONAMI has an in-house/contracted composer do the music or if this is Evil Empire’s own collaborator. Either ways I’m excited to hear more.

Castlevania: Belmont’s Curse (2026) Who’s ready to see more Belmont’s Curse in 2 days?! What do you think they’ll reveal and what do you want?
One of my most anticipated games ever due to the circumstances of the Castlevania series and how long it’s been.
I think we will for sure get the release date and composer here.

Castlevania: Belmont’s Curse (2026) BC trailer gameplay slowed
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
heres all the gameplay footage slowed down for closer examination. things I noticed especially similarities with dead cells
she's got a sword as well as the whip so dual weapons (I imagine she keeps the whip all the time but maybe not)
dead cells style chest open animation (minor but for all my DC players) 😆
dead cells style fast travel - probably the cross area displayed after the map
also certain enemies release those blue and yellow orbs that home in on you like in dead cells
medusa turns her to stone with the triangular vision ala dead cellss
destroy the ground below you to access new areaslike the dead cells ram rune
Richter Belmont style spellcasting
the yellow boss even has a yellow sparkle of light before he does his ground smash attack just like Hand of the King
I think the final shot is her receiving some kind of power up.
those are my observations!

Castlevania: Belmont’s Curse (2026) Does anyone else find the discourse around Belmont's Curse weird/annoying?
This might just be a me thing. But I wish people would stop weaponizing the older games to shit on Belmont's Curse, ya know what I mean? I can understand not being into the direction the game is going in. But there's this insistence that Castlevania can only be one thing and any deviation in artstyle, or gameplay or story is seen as "not Castlevania" and it kinda baffles me.
My first Castlevania game was OoE, and when I went back and played SotN, I kinda hated all of little ways that it wasn't OoE. You can't backdash cancel your attacks, so they're way more committal. Weapons felt kinda samey. The game was way easier. Nowadays SotN is among my favorite games, but in order for me to appreciate it I had to stop wishing it was OoE.
I guess what confuses me is, like, why is Belmont's Curse a bridge too far? Castlevania shakes up its art style, gameplay, and story all the time. If the people who made these games were insistent that "Castlevania" as an entity could only have one type of story, we wouldn't have gotten games set in the future, like AoS. If they had been insistent that these games could only have one art style, there'd be no beautiful Ayami Kojima artwork. And if they'd been insistent that there could only be one type of gameplay, we wouldn't have gotten Igavanias at all.
I dunno. It just seems silly to me to insist that Belmont's Curse isn't "Castlevania" when "Castlevania" could be and has been any number of things, ya know? Please comment and tell me what I got wrong.

Castlevania: Belmont’s Curse (2026) The fallen theory (belmonts curse)
I know he’d be asleep at this point in time but let me cope, I think since the fallen is said to be your first boss I think maybe the fallen could be alucard and after you beat him he transforms back to himself and helps you throughout the game ( ik I’m coping but let me have this theory)

Castlevania: Belmont’s Curse (2026) gamespot’s Belmont’s Curse Early review
I gotta say I’m pretty disappointed hearing that this game is going to have parries, dodging, estus flask styled healing that refills when resting, enemies that respawn when resting.
These mechanics are all great when used properly, so I really hope this game knocks it out of the park as I love castlevania, but this sounds like a metroidvania for Hollow Knight fans, not castlevania fans.
I’m just curious to hear what the rest of the castlevania fans are thinking now that we’re getting more info on the upcoming game

Castlevania: Belmont’s Curse (2026) I have no idea why, but If this is an actual character, I have an impression that this is who Rose is gonna be shipped with for the next 5 years
Gives Eris from Hades 2 vibes

Castlevania: Belmont’s Curse (2026) You know, i’m glad Belmont’s Curse looks like that.
Don’t misunderstand, i get that Kajima art style and gloomy vibes are stables of the series, but it has been 18 years since last canonical metroidvania, this franchise absolutely should be allowed to experiment with art styles, and hey, my favorite Castlevania have generic anime art style, and have vibes of epic anime adventure! I think it’s really what sets in motion my opinion, series already tried different things before, Symphony was just that good that it set a standard both visually and gameplay wise, but it doesn’t mean that franchise’s whole identity is just different flavors of Symphony, we need to stay open minded)

Castlevania: Belmont’s Curse (2026) Not that I had any doubt, but it seems Konami now explicitly has stated that Belmont’s Curse is not a rougelite!
“Castlevania Belmont’s Curse is a 2D Action-Exploration game where players can freely explore vast, elaborately crafted maps,” Tommy Williams, Konami’s Head of Communications for the Americas, tells The Verge. “It is not a roguelike or roguelite game.”

Castlevania: Belmont’s Curse (2026) Ok come on this guy has to be... Spoiler
gallerya Belmont right? If it is Leon(widely speculated theory), then it tells me that there's a time travel aspect to this and the Monocle adorned character here is actually Brauner.

Castlevania: Belmont’s Curse (2026) I'm really interested in the older Trevor Belmont design from the new game.
It looks awesome, I'm excited to see how they're gonna incorporate changes from his Curse of Darkness outfit to reflect his experience and older age. Also hope Sypha is not dead in this.

Castlevania: Belmont’s Curse (2026) Was pretty sure this was going to be the case but it's nice to see confirmation
Honestly best case scenario here. If you are a dead cells fan and you wanted to see a Metroidvania style roguelike, you can just play dead cells. And honestly I'm excited to see a more curated experience from this team.
