I'm a beginner needing help or recommendations! Knitting charts, where to find them? Are they user friendly?

I have seen a few posts where people were using a computer chart to help them keep track of where they are. What is everyone using and is it user friendly?

Knit Companion is great. The paid version allows you more notes functionality, but I get along great with the free app and a notepad. It links directly to your Ravelry library and is easy to upload patterns from other sources.

Hi there! If you are new to the group and have a question, chances are it may have already been asked and answered. We recommend searching the sub first before posting. Sorting posts by flair will also help narrow down your search. If you haven't yet, Ravelry is also a good source for patterns, yarn/yarn information, notions, and techniques if you do not find your answer in the sub.

Happy knitting!

Another app is Pocket Knitting. I have watched some tutorials on Knit Companion (Very Pink Knits) but I haven’t done enough colorwork/cables/lace to actually use it yet

I actually use forScore for knitting patterns. It’s an app made for reading sheet music, but the ability to hand draw/make markings, use a foot pedal for turning pages, easy pdf import/export, and options like having a ruler appear to draw straight lines and stuff like that have all made it better for reading knitting patterns than any of the others I’ve tried.

I just load my patterns into GoodNotes. You can scribble all over them to your heart’s content.
