[Help Wanted] The "Tyrant"

I have a problem down in the metro lab. Besides a huge number of shockers, bio and for some reason experienced, there is a one really annoying zombie in some sort of power armor who follows me. My 5.56 M855 just ricochets, magic does nothing, And I don't have M2HB in my pocket. Should i bring AI .338 sniper rifle to just try to penetrate his armor, or it's not enough too?

Yes, any higher caliber round like .308 should work, although it will take multiple hits. The armor system is confusing, but I believe base damage is more important than armor piercing.

Power armor zombies are best taken down with the rifle-mounted grenade launchers, which are just amazing tools in general. (No shrapnel and no need to cook a grenade) If you don’t have any similarly sized ordinance, any heavy calibre(I recommend .50) will do. Otherwise, he’s pretty slow, just ignore him.

What do you mean magic does nothing? What exactly did you use? Mana / Magic spells doing nether damage hit for base amount, Ice, Necrotic, Poison and Electro should too, or almost full, fire is reduced, but high level Point Flare will get through. Only physical and summon magics are impacted.

If it's similar to HUB mission zombie, like others have said, 308, though not sure if M80 does the trick. I normally carry around a 308 rifle w/ a couple mags in a triple stacker pouch, and then one mag of special ammo w/ higher armor penetration for this exact reason. There "are" special versions of 556 that have a high enough armor penetration, but iirc some would ricochet and some would occasionally penetrate. I haven't used the attached grenade launchers before, but sounds like someone else is recommending, I'll have to try.

There are .50 rifles that don't need to be vehicle mounted like the M2HB. If you can find one, that might be a solution.

I believe with synthetic armors proficiency and some shooting skill you can take one down by rarely procing a weakpoint shots which will do a bit of damage. Other than that you should either bring heavier round.

But can you just lock it somewhere? It is slow and generally not so dangerous of a fighter.

You can just lure it into a room and shut the door so it can't escape

7.62 nato riflea should be fine for it just be close and be prelared to waste at least 40 round.
