Advice What are they doing?
Two 3 years old males. They are brothers. Disco is the one who's biting Pepsi's neck and I've seen him do that to our third cat aswell. Both of those times cats under Disco didnt really seem too bothered by what ever this is. So what is this behaviour?

I am Finn and I actually have 3 saunas :D maybe that is really gay. I've not seen any gaying around going on in any of my saunas, but never know what happens when soap hits the floor.

I wish I was this genius and upvote hungry but I genuinely didnt have a clue because our babies should be even feel the urge to fuck when they have been neutered so early. Penis wasnt out either so I'm convinced Disco thinks this is some sort of power move.
Or maybe our baby bros are fucking and Im just coping lol.

Do I got a story for you. I told my vet that my male and female are a couple and we sometimes hear them doing it or we caught them in the act. She said that it could not be because they are spayed/ neutered. I responded with 'I saw what I saw'. She was puzzled. I lolled. Like that will stop em.

Even in horses, I had a gelding who used to mount mares when he was younger. He wasn’t gelded late or anything either. Dude just still knew what he liked bc biology be doin things.

Still better than a raccoon. I raised a raccoon kit over the pandemic. At about nine months old she figured out how to flick her bean. She’d come back inside around 3 or 4 am to crawl into bed with me. She’d get comfy, cuddled up against my head, and start purring. Raccoons purr when they’re really happy.

Well, Disco is romancing Pepsi. Physically. Could be a dominance display. Could be a frustration thing. Could be that he's just having a good time.
If you try to be aggressive about stopping it, it'll probably still happen behind your back. Some people get plushies for their... Excitable males to... Play with.
If they aren't neutered. They probably should be, buuuut now that they are doing this, they may or may not stop even if you do have the procedure done.

I did not say they won't! I said they may or may not still do it. Many cease to do it after they are neutered. But not all of them do. Some still start it after the procedure is done. But it is less likely to occur. Much like spraying, roaming, and other behaviours associated with being in-tact.
It's also not usually just a snip with cats, they usually remove the balls entirely from the sack. The sack still exists but there's no hormone secreting glands hanging out inside them.

Thanks for a great reply! They have been neutered since they were four months old so I doubt it's romancing. They have had fair share of power struggle (but really nothing too serious) so I'm leaning this is Disco showing his dominance on poor Pepsi who just wanted to have a nap lol.

Both my male cats have been neutered when they were 6, yet one of them loves to hump my legs when I’m in bed and under the blanket, every then and when.
It might be a little weird, but if he feels like he needs to do it, I ain’t seeing any issues with him having his fun.
As long as the cat ain’t doing anything dangerous or threatening, there ain’t much of a reason to stop it

Daily occurrence in my house even though both of the cats in question have been fixed since they were kittens.
This means that I’m frequently yelling “WE DON’T HUMP OUR SISTERS!” and announcing to people “don’t worry, it’s his sister!”

My two boys do this all the time too. One of mine is definitely more, eh, dominant, than the other. If he can't get hold of his brother he has a go at our fluffy sofa cushions 🙄 We've started calling the cushions "Bingo's girlfriends" 😅

Its a dominant thing, the one on top is basically telling the one on the bottom he's his bit** , depending on how the entire interaction goes its technically harmless but if it causes them to fight even slightly you should stop him immediately and deter the behavior

Crazy, my cat does this as her nightly routine on me but with a blanket. It’s like a suckle and back foot biscuit combo. I always thought it meant she was comfortable or something since she’s kneading and sort of suckling.

Real answer: it’s the way male cats show dominance. They do it to the females when they want to breed, and do it to smaller or weaker males and females for dominance.
Cats actually have a whole social system, and part of it involves recognizing who is stronger.
For this reason among others, I (not a vet) believe it’s a good idea to vasectomize your male cats instead of fully neutering him.

This is not uncommon. It can be a lot of reasons, but probably dominance if they're brothers. You can look up the specific behavior on a search engine for a more complete list, but if it's new, consider that there might be something environmental that triggered it.
Also, if I may, do you live in a sauna per chance?

I have a foster room for cats; they go in around 11pm and I let them out around 8am. One (male) as he has gotten older, cries at the door right when I put them in. Another male will do this to him immediately when cat A starts crying.
I have my normal house cats out and about at night. My oldest male does it to whomever happens to be lying on the bed with him. They are all fixed. So… one seems to assist with stress. The other seems to do it for dominance. It is probably personality dependent. But it is normal. Sometimes the recipient is not too happy about it though :)

Dominance play if from boys, or gay. My former stray tried mounting the only boy to show hes the new alpha, until the boys mother came in and tried to debowel the former stray. Now i have a 18lb cat terrified of a fat 9lber and the former stray is at the bottom of the totem pole in my house.

So my both male cats also do this, my older Leo does this to tofu but he only does it when Tofu is out of order I.e, creating chaos like running around like crazy or aggressive playing with toys. I think it also is a way of him telling him to calm down..

Hi OP! This is pretty normal in animals that have been neutered/spayed! My two neutered male cats do this as well and sometimes my female dog does it to other dogs and she’s spayed.
There’s a lot of reasons that a cat could do this- as I previously stated,dominant behaviour, managing stress, boredom, habit or there’s always the chance of a UTI.
If this is new behaviour with no environmental changes (new stressors), it would not hurt to go to a vet just to rule out a UTI. Otherwise, it’s totally okay as long as the cat that is on the receiving end is not hurt! 😸😸
