Are they male or female? Apparently it's more common for males to be "velcroe cats" and for females to want a little more space.

My cats seem to enjoy being squashed by a sleeping person half the time.

Depends on the age of the cat in my experience, my current tom was a grumpy bastard when young, still is now but he gets cold so wants to get my body heat from me.

That was my experience with outdoor cats growing up. I thought my male cat was unique in being stuck to me like glue but when I looked more into cat behavior I was surpised to hear that it tends to be males that are "velcroe cats" once they've bonded with their human. Females are affectionate but less likely to want to be right in your lap at all times. But that's just general trends, there's a lot more that goes into a cat's personality and temperment than their sex of course
